Two years ago, Allen West stood in the lobby of the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington as just another conservative in the crowd, making polite introductions as he pitched his underdog bid for Congress in Florida at his first Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
This year, though, when the Iraq and Afghanistan veteran returned to the annual convention Thursday, he was immediately greeted by adoring fans of every age from a cross-section of states, many of them eager to snap a picture or land an autograph from one of the right's rising stars.
Like fellow Floridian Marco Rubio, another CPAC darling who is running for the Senate, West has caught conservative lightning in a bottle and hes finding theres no better place to be at the moment than the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, where he can spread the word about his candidacy and tap into the burgeoning grass-roots energy on the right.

Allen West is fantastic. Can you imagine him in the Black Caucus? The man is definitely Presidential material. Too bad our first “black” President was a commie instead of a patriot like West.
I'll leave the tingly leg thing to Chris Matthews, but I certainly was inspired by Allen West!
