Friends had 'no clue' IRS suicide pilot was bent on destruction
New York Post ^ | February 20, 2010 | Bill Sanderson

The crazed pilot who launched a kamikaze air attack on a Texas IRS office hid his anger so deeply, friends say they had no idea of his anti-establishment rage or the money woes he said were behind it.

Joseph Stack, 53, had a nice home in middle-class Austin, Texas. He owned a single-engine airplane and had enough money to pursue a passion for country music that led him to produce his own album several years ago, pals told The Post.

"We didn't think he was struggling financially, the way he presented himself. He never aired any grievance. He was real easygoing," said Ric Furley, who played with Stack in an alt-country band.

Never knew Joseph Stack was a band member of an alternative country music band. How could a 53 year old guy, who was not struggling financially, turn into a suicidal maniac against the unconstitutional IRS?

Read his note. The thinking is typical of paranoid schizophrenia, although superficially more rational then many such screeds.

Has anyone found out what political party he belonged to, and if he gave any donations to candidates/groups?

KDFW Fox4News just did a report that says Teapartiers are distancing themselves from Stack. Even mentioning Medina and stuff.

He was harboring a deep grudge against society. He blamed others for his personal failures. A true mark of a Liberal.

I believe he was a longtime registered Democrat.

Have you seen this published? Great news, if true. What will MSNBC, ABC, CNN, etc say?

When the state run media never mentions a political party, it’s always a ‘Rat.

I believe he was a longtime registered Democrat.

I believe swinging a dead cat over your head three time at midnight in a corn field brings good luck.

So got any proof of your statement?

member of an alternative country music band

In other words, liberal. He was probably a fan of the Dixie Chicks.

Read the suicide statement he posted on the internet. It is a left-wing screed.

Basically he said that rich people cheat on their taxes, so why shouldn’t he?

And he wound up with that line from the Communist Manifesto: Workers of the World Unite.

He also revealed himself to be viciously anti-Catholic.

So, just like my dead cat theory, your opinion with no facts to back it up.

If you don't see the party affiliation anywhere in media articles, or just in the last paragraph, you can safely assume they are a Democrat.

Isn't there a web site that reports all political donations given to candidates??

Can we get a little help from the FReepers out there.

I couldn't find a voting record, so either he wasn't even a registered voter in Texas or someone removed it. I didn't see any records of donations on opensecrets either.

Another story had his daughter listed as age 38. If true, that would put him at 15 or 16 at her time of birth. His wife taught piano lessons from their home and he appeared normal to most everyone. No one has come forward who has admitted talking to him about his political views, so it sounds like he kept them to himself.
