“Ron Paul didnt despise Reagan, he just disagreed with any foreign interventions or growth of govt that was done by Reagan or anyone else”
I repeat Paul hated Reagan:
“In 1988 Ron Paul was nominated by the Libertarian Party for president and ran against the Reagan agenda, at one point telling the Dallas Morning News, Reagan was a “dramatic failure” as President. Paul also said, “I want to totally disassociate myself from the Reagan Administration”, Reagan was “a failure, yes, in, in many ways”. Transcript of Paul’s remarks on Meet the Press. Also, see Youtube video of Paul on MTP. “
Sorry, but the guy is a nut, a fruitcake, but not a conservative.
Hey Neocons? Check the scoreboard!
We’re sort of arguing over whether he was mad at him or didn’t like him - not worth the bandwith, I think. I’m just trying to convince people that RP is on “our side” so much more than he gets credit for.
I frequently mention my trip to the d.c. area in Dec. For 50 miles you drive through the crystal palaces of companies that are sucking of favors to the gov’t and in Arlington, they’re building miles of new condos and business is booming. On my last day there, I saw the article in Anti-USAToday about the gov’t employees and their huge salaries. I told my boss later that it was a good thing I was leaving as I didn’t think I could contain myself much longer (I was in a course on gov’t regs with many gov’t employees in attendance).
RP wants to cut the mechanisms (agencies and dept’s full of unelected bureaucrats) that suck all that money out of the rest of the country and fatten the wallets of gov’t and their suck-ups. You never hear any “conservatives” talk that way anymore and that’s sad.
