That's not true and how would you know that?Google it. You can find old archives of FreeRepublic from way back. I researched it one night when trying to find posts from 9-11 to see the posts from that horrible day in America. I did this on 9/11's anniversary a year or two ago. Ron Paul was highly regarded on FreeRepublic.

LOL! I don't need to Google it. You're wrong.

At one time there were many Ron Paul supporters here...just like at one time there were many Rudy Guiliani supporters here. However, I wouldn’t consider either candidate as ever having been “highly regarded on FreeRepublic”.

Ron Paul has been praised for his stance on economic issues but overall, he’s just weird.

I would agree that Ron Paul is correct about Constitutional matters. However, his isolationist thinking is dangerous. And Libertarianism is good in theory, but not a realistic system. It is a system that would operate as a Trojan horse for tyranny.
Theoretical politics does have an intellectual appeal. However, as conservatives, we have a system that needs our attention; not something you would find at the end of the Santa Monica Pier in your Nike shoes.

I remember. As a member for 12 years I am saddened by the changes that have occured here. What passes here for conservative these days here would have been unacceptable to the original member conservatives who popularized this site.
