CPAC has degenerated into a big freak show circus tent raising exercise for the GOP political machine mechanics to tweak. McCain's stunt with his bussed in supporters in 2008 was the turning point for me. It was nauseous. Rush's exceptional CPAC speech last year was a brief glimpse of what CPAC could and should be about- advancing conservatism. Now, it's just a pathetic GOP circle jerk of statist progressive (R)politicians jockying for position and screeching gaylord fringe groups demanding conservative legitimacy.
