Rock Hudson was gay, a friend of Reagan, and a conservative Republican who campaigned with John Wayne for Barry Goldwater in 1964.

Call it any way you want.

Shoot dude, hardly anyone even knew Rock Hudson was gay until he died of AIDS.

And he definitely wasn't running around campaigning to destroy the traditional nuclear family, nor was he promoting the normalisation of the gay lifestyle.

Yes, but was Rock Hudson a flaunting gay who campaigned for absurdities like gay marriage?

What many of us resent is the political activities of gay rights groups, which attempt to suppress all opposition to their views and which seek not toleration but domination. The issue of marriage has come to the front because they have used allies in the courts to overturn electoral majorities and to subvert the constitutions of one or more states. Family law in this country supposes procreation and the nurturing of issue to be the main purpose of family units, because no large scale society can continue long without children. Gay relationships can be tolerated only so long as they don’t make claims on resources that should rightly belong to the next generations.

Again, how is that relevant?

Nobody here wants to prevent Rock Hudson or his contemporary equivalents, whatever their preference, proclivity or vice (and that includes heterosexuals) from using their voices and votes to support conservative politics.

What we don't welcome is a "gay constituency" with an agenda we don't agree with.

Someone might object,"But they have no gay agenda." If they have no gay agenda, then they don't have to present themselves as a gay constituency.

Let them join, e.g., "Tea Party Tennessee for Lower Taxes." As such, they'll be sincerely welcome here.

Hudson kept his homosexuality in the closet, and never openly supported it. Most of America didn’t know he was gay, until he announced he had aids.

NOT an advocate.
