Ryan Sorba booed off CPAC stage for anti-homosexual remarks
Right Pundits ^ | Feb 19, 2010 | Donald Borsch Jr.

Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organization’s California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPAC’s choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he “condemns CPAC”. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

Did Mathis promote the “gay” agenda? Ride in “gay pride” parades? Agitate for homosexuals in the military and same sex marriage? Promote teaching of homosexuality to children in schools?

No?

Then no comparison to anything on this thread.

Perfectly stated. It seems the enemies of Western Civilization know it better than many of its would-be defenders.

[GOProud promotes our traditional conservative agenda by influencing politics and policy at the federal level.]

Yeah, and the sexualy dysfunctional miscreants at the helm of Nazi Germany made the trains run on time too...

If you are saying we can win elections by being meaner, I disagree with your opinion, and I think the evidence is clear that being mean does not get the independents to vote for your candidate.

If you are arguing that personally you don’t want to be nice, I’m not telling you what to do in your personal life. I’m saying what the public face of the party should be, if we want to win elections.

We need to be the party that opposes special rights for homosexuals, that opposes condoning homosexual behavior, that opposes making homosexuality “normal”. But if we are the party that hates homosexuals, we won’t win elections. And i want to win elections, and since I don’t believe God called me to hate homosexuals, I don’t feel I’m compromising my principles by suggesting this course of action.

Yes, but personally I don’t think that means that Jesus stops loving them, and His followers shouldn’t either.

"Loving them" in that context means desiring for their souls to be saved and nothing more.

Hello. No, we shouldn’t welcome CONSERVAdrunk, though I bet they’d have the best afterparty.

We just need to maximize our potential voters, and I think this will be accomplished by taxing sexuality out of politics.

We don’t have to bend (ha) to the homosexual agenda at all, but we should realize that young voters are much more vulnerable to the tricks of the agenda, so we need to engage it cleverly—not just try in vain to shout it down.

I hate the homosexual agenda. I’m talking about standing up courageously against the homosexual agenda. That’s what I’m talking about.

And it seems a lot of Repubs are not willing or able to do that. That is sickening and is going to cost elections.

Showing love to people engaged in and dedicated to promoting sin, means telling them the truth. It means telling them to stop what they’re doing. It doesn’t mean placating them and telling them they’re fine just as they are.

>And so long as speakers are discussing the harm of homosexuality, we need to encourage that, just as we need to continue to discuss the harm divorce causes to our children, adultery and sexual immorality, pornography, and the sexualization of women cause in our society.<

This is one of their polemics, and it is a false dichotomy, as people are not marching on churches etc. in protest against their stand against adultery, or porn, or using psychological tactics against them (”pornophobic”?) It is the same leftist ideology that promotes homosexuality that stands against these other issues, and the reason the homosexual activists draw heat is because of their aggressive promotion, and the cooperation of powers that be.

If partaking of the Lord’s supper (a consensual act) resulted in the death of a half a million Americans as AIDS has, due first to homosexuality and the rest to promiscuity in general, then what do you thing the reaction wold be?

That said, i am not for name calling and the gross vulgarity, but for their salvation. Yet i am forced to resist the promotion of homosexuality, which will destroy many.

I oppose GOProud, because I oppose the idea that gays need their own special organization to promote the conservative agenda.

And if they are promoting the “gay conservative” agenda, to the degree that this isn’t the “conservative” agenda, I reject it because I don’t want to promote the “gay” agenda.

My point being that if the group isn’t promoting gays, there’s no point in having a gay version of a conservative group, and if they ARE promoting gays, they don’t belong in the conservative movement because we aren’t about promoting the gay lifestyle or special recognition of the gay agenda.

Those promoting the homosexual agenda are shoving (perverted) sexuality into politics. It must be addressed.

I guess I understand Christian love to be more about action and less about making wishes.

GOProud supports openly gay people serving in the military without restriction of their activities.

GOProud

The page shows three people involved. I guess there are more, but how many? I doubt they represent any substantial numbers.

Clear? When the rubber must meet the road, the GOP is as clear as the mud in a Louisiana swamp. Oh, they talk a good game... but, in the end, they act no different than the Democrats. Somewhere in Washington DC there must exist a vast graveyard of detached spines... Since I have yet to encounter a sitting Republican who is still in possession of his, and the Democrats never had one to begin with... except when it comes to screwing the American people... then they are indefatigable juggernauts... while the Republicans practice their knitting.

The GOP is infested by a cabal of political whores, whom stand for nothing but themselves... and would sell the store if not for a few lone conservative voices crying in the wilderness. A conservative platform of ideas? Please, spare me that drivel. The GOP admits into its ranks every idea except the conservative brand. The only time their ears unclog is after they loose an election, but unfortunately the lucidity is temporary.

So the GOP never goes home with the one who brought them to the dance. Instead, led by poltroons and effeminate intellectual jerk-offs, it plays political football in the best tradition of Lucy Van Pelt and Charlie Brown. That is why over the past 20 years their accomplishments for the cause of conservatism would not fill a pail... and we conservatives end up flat on our backs. That is why we still have abortion on demand, homosexual marriage, a collapsed industrial base, a broken financial system, a fascist-inclined authoritarian oligarchy for government, and a national debt that, if its worthless fiat currency were laid end to end, would reach the Moon. In the political arena, when push comes to shove, the Republicans have fallen and they can’t get “it” up.

Oh yes, we brag about NJ and VA and... OMG! Massachusetts! However, have any here actually examined the “rest” of Scott Brown’s positions? Hardly conservative, but unmistakeably the unabashed equivocating ambiguities of a RINO. Or do any here delude themselves to think Massachusetts is suddenly in the conservative corner? So while most are cheering because Senator Brown will cast a vote against Obamacare, just what will these same individuals do once their adopted Massachusetts son starts casting votes in the same vein as John McCain?

More pointedly towards John McCain’s present electoral contest, and since I am in a mood to raise hackles, will some prescient individual please explain why it must be that Sarah Palin is supporting the re-election of this treacherous RINO jackass? What was that I stated a few rants ago about “principle”? I have to wonder whether all is completely lost, when even “Sarahcuda” sings the song of sell-out.

Most of those who call themselves Republicans are no better than the tyrannical socialists whom they conveniently, in the end, never fail to play footsie. That unfortunate reality explains why, that no matter which political party holds majority power, the “progressive” agenda never looses an inch of ground, while the conservatives barely tread water, if not outright sink beneath the waves of socialism that pound this republic without a moment’s pause. It’s all one grand circle jerk... and we are the jerks for allowing these GOP frauds to continue their shenanigans, without stringing a few up from the light poles just to remind them of who it is they serve.

No. America has not statesmen, but rather impotent poltroons, whom will just as quickly thrust a wet finger into the air so to test the political trade winds as would ever any of their contemporaries across the ideological aisle. To a progressive, there is no “wet dream” like that of co-opting ... er-uhm ... “cooperating” with their opponents Uphold the truth? Hell, boy... that’s idealistic; that’s not expedient!

Many in the GOP leadership, and in particular that two-faced clueless coward, Michael Steele, would shank their grandmothers, if they thought the betrayal would gain them some electoral ground with those who are in fact the worst enemies of individual liberty. After all... We simply MUST have “bi-partisanship!” Who would dare think to stand on principle... That’s so outdated!

How else do you explain tolerance for such RINO traitors the likes of McCain, Snowe, Collins, Specter, et al?

Now, come 2012, the GOP is going to once again push on conservatives that smiling phony Mitt Romney? That sideshow did not work the last time, but that result will not stop the schmucks in the GOP leadership from making another attempt at flying their worn-out lead zeppelin over the conservative base. Spin Crash and Burn... again.

An elephant is supposed to never forget... Unfortunately the GOP leadership never learns anything to begin with.

Making action as in “comment #188”. “Desiring” means prayer. You don’t believe in prayer?

What is not mentioned is Regan gets blamed for people dying of AIDS, as if he was to blame for this unique epidemic.

Jefferson also had a lot to say about Natural Law; and transhumanist/postgenderist doctrine is an ABOMINATION of that law.
