Ryan Sorba booed off CPAC stage for anti-homosexual remarks

Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organization’s California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPAC’s choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he “condemns CPAC”. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

True, and those disagree need to understand the word trajectory.

Federal Student Nondiscrimination Act - Sixty-six members of the House have introduced the Student Nondiscrimination Act of 2010 (HB 4530). Reportedly, President Obama’s now infamous “Safe Schools Czar,” Kevin Jennings, has been working with Democrats in Congress to craft the bill that will make LGBT students in public schools a federally protected class. Schools would enforce non-discrimination among students, leaving individual students free to file federal criminal complaints. Schools that fail to comply would lose federal funding. The bill will have the effect of giving special rights and protection to those who practice sexual behaviors that were illegal in many states just seven years ago. Openly homosexual Representative Jared Polis (D-Colo.) is chief sponsor of the bill, which would give radical homosexual activist Kevin Jennings almost unlimited power to mandate his vision of homosexual indoctrination in schools across America (Text of Bill, WND Report, www.stopjennings.org). http://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=PW10B02

It’s too late. The gay army has already passed you by and moved on, norge. You’re foolishly looking toward the wrong horizon for hostile intent.

Seems about half of the conservatives at this event were college students. As someone who just finished up withschool, I can say that a majority of my peers aren’t even close to thinking this issue through and really have no concept of the family’s role in a society. You’ll ask them what they see about the family and its centrality in a society and what changes to that structure might have, and you’ll get blank looks of dullards who haven’t even begun to contemplate that question.

They’re the same people who are going to wake up and realize they’re 38 and have a hard time conceiving kids.

On a moral level I agree with you. There is an absolute measure of morality, and homosexuality is on the wrong side of that measure. As is adultery, lusting after women, and divorce except in explicitly defined exceptions.

And so long as speakers are discussing the harm of homosexuality, we need to encourage that, just as we need to continue to discuss the harm divorce causes to our children, adultery and sexual immorality, pornography, and the sexualization of women cause in our society.

We need to speak out about all sorts of moral issues.

But from a societal perspective, morality isn’t what it used to be, and Jefferson’s feelings about punishing homosexuals might not carry the weight of superiority given his support for things like slavery.

Poltiically, we aren’t going to be a majority party if our platform is about emasculating homosexuals. It may appeal to some of our supporters, but today’s conservatives are not going to win if our message is to use government to enforce morality to that degree.

Not that government doesn’t enforce morality, or that it would be WRONG to enforce morality in the area of homosexuality, just that at this time it’s not an issue that we can win on, and we need to work to win the battle about harm to society before we could ever argue about laws to prevent that harm.

The battle now is against the acceptance of homosexuality, and the forced indoctrination of our kids to accept homosexuality. Although that battle is largely lost unfortunately.

Exactly.

And today even the GOP is shutting up about it.

How messed up is that?

Typical liberal fascism. At CPAC? Just wonderful. Who is the idiot that thought this would be a good idea?

“pedophilia is a criminal act. If homosexuality was a crime, I wouldn’t want the support of homosexuals.”

Wifeswapping, alcoholism, scat fetish, etc are all fully legal. So once again I ask you - would you welcome with open arms the groups: GOPolygamy (a group which celebrates swingers), GOPlastered (a group with alcoholic pride), or GOPoop (a group with members who eroticize feces)?

“They reject Jesus and His teachings.”

Yes, but personally I don’t think that means that Jesus stops loving them, and His followers shouldn’t either.

Jefferson had a lot to say about liberty.

I suggest you read him.

Agreed. Many of these posters want to impose their values on others, in the same manner liberals want to control us. Thus, they become the same arbiters of individual liberty as those they despise.

Maybe both of you need to learn a little history yourselves.

Look at Post #37!

I side with Jefferson.

Well, no you don't.

Little known fact - Thomas Jefferson advocated castration as a punishment for homosexuality, and actually authored a bill to that effect before the Virginia legislature.

Did every single one of them boo? Does every single gay Republican (or every gay person regardless of political affiliation) agree with GOProud’s behavior?

Similar to the assertion that all Republicans are bigots and racists, assuming that ALL gays are pushing an agenda is a stereotype and not necessarily based in reality.

Reagan didn’t peep into other people’s bedrooms. I don’t care for the lifestyle, but I don’t believe in a witchhunt either.

Conservative govt doesn’t mean force people to their lifes according to your wishes. Conservative govt is about limited govt.

It will hurt the fight against the gay agenda if we don’t distinguish between our disdain for special treatment of gays, and gays themselves.

So Charles, how do we as Christians, that is you and I, handle the fact that God calls Homosexuality an Abomination and we are commanded to rebuke sin?

On the other hand, he invited an openly homosexual couple to sleep in the White house. He was not intolerant, even though he did not condone homosexuality. I think the line Reagan walked would be a sound one for us today, hate the sin, love the sinner, fight against special rights, fight against the movement to condone homosexual acts, but be tolerant of others, and don’t make sexual orientation a litmus test.

Charles, according to the Bible, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for the sin of Homosexuality, among others.

Was he being intolerant?

If you took away the conservative Christian base then Republicans would not win anything, but what the Republicans do is be somewhat more conservative in order to get elected, and so end up doing the same things that Democrats do, except slower, thereby furthering the downfall of this country, which will not last in rejecting Biblical morality, and will share the blame for it.

You can support Stalin to defeat Hitler, but the victory you win will be short, so it is in voting for a compromised party.

the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
(Daniel 12:10)
