Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organization’s California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPAC’s choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he “condemns CPAC”. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

Um . . . sorry . . . EVERYONE in Hollywood (not just in the film community) knew Hudson was gay. Worst kept secret in the world. But besides that - I am a traditional values family: husband, wife, kids, church-going, dog named Skippy, etc. What EXACTLY, do all of you mean by “traditional values?” Is divorced and remarried okay? Is pregnant before marriage okay? Is estranged from children okay? I hope so, because otherwise, Ronald Reagan is outside of the traditional values tent. Or is “traditional values” just code for “kick the faggots out?”
There seems to be this strange prevailing rule that Conservatism must embrace homosexuality in order for homosexuals to embrace Conservatism.
No group within the Conservative movement should be given special recognition for characteristics unique to that group as the issues relate to Conservatism. I believe it’s destructive to raise celebratory flags and banners to groups that are part of the whole, but don’t necessarily represent the timeless Conservative point of view.
Conservatism is not about tradition, it’s about the continuous pursuit of our God given Liberties that allows for the traditions we value.

Hmm... It sounds as though I touched on a sensitive nerve. What does little jeremiah know that the rest of us don't with the peculiar string of posts on this thread? A casual observer might not have thought anything about those posts, but in succession, the inference that it makes looks a little out of place for FR.

No, I am definitely not tag-teaming for little jeremiah - that’s actually quite a bit funny considering that him and I don’t get along very well together when we are on the same message thread.
On the original subject of the post my feelings are that people who want to advance pro-gay issues (same sex marriage, repeal of don’t ask don’t tell, etc.) need to either become Democrats or keep silent on those issues if they are going to run under the Conservative or Republican banner.
Sort of like the way I feel that gay Christians should attend a church that is accepting of them rather than trying to change a church to accept them.

The non-hatred spoken of in the Upanishad refers to seeing the spiritual spark within each and every body, including insects, animals and plants, as well as humans. It means seeing that each and every soul belongs with God, free from the darkness of sin and selfishness and ignorance. It means wishing all souls well. It means seeing that the bodily and mental differences are not who the person really is; and that mis-identifying the soul with the body and the temporary desires and cravings of the mind is a life of ignorance and misery.
Such a wise person also sees that when people who are ignorant of their real eternal identity, and not only think they are the bodies, but indulge in and promote the grossest kinds of degradation, that ignorant degradation should not only not be encouraged or applauded, but stopped. And criticized - shining the light of truth on the darkness is showing real love.
Patting someone on the back and saying “you’re fine just as you are” is not real love as it keeps people in darkness. Is it love or kindness to encourage people to drown? Or drink poison? Especially if they demand the right to teach others to drink poison? That drinking poison is good, natural and healthy? And that people who are opposed to the promotion of drinking poison are poisonophobes?
I do not hate homosexuals as souls. I hate their practices and their agenda. I wish they would all see the light of truth and reject their old ways. I wish this with all my heart. But fake kindness does them, and no one, any good. It merely keeps them in illusion - the false dream that they’re okay the way they are.
And I am on this thread because I am determined to do my little bit - however small - to help the world become a place of light, instead a place that “celebrates” darkness.

Nope gays and straights are not equal and should not be treated as such. I've served with many who had pics of wives and family on their bunks, lockers or workstations, I don't want to see pics of some guy's BF. Also we had many functions where families were invited, luncheons, dinners, home get-togethers, military dances, I don't want to see a bunch of homos dancing with their partners or bringing them to any of these functions and telling me how great they're relationship is.
If the Boy Scouts are smart enough to see the danger of letting homo pervs take charge of their young troops, surely the military can see that the danger of placing these predatory homo pervs in charge of their young virile troops would be like putting foxes in charge of hen houses. Homos are mentally sick in the head, that alone makes them incompetent to serve.
I was referring to heterosexual rape which has been well publicized. I have no info on same sex rape. The arabic translators issue occurred under the previous administration, but after the Iraq invasion, when we certainly needed all the language skill we could get.
