The speaker, Ryan Sorba, was introduced to talk about his experiences with the ACORN investigation. Before he could even say a word the boos started from the assorted gay activists in the crowd. (Sorba is a frequent critic of the homosexual lifestyle).
Note that only AFTER the boos began did Sorba change the subject to condemning CPAC for inviting GOProud to CPAC.
He became flustered as any young man in such a situation would be on national TV, at a supposedly "conservative" event, being booed by homosexual activists...but his response that "Lesbians at Smith college protest better than you do" was pretty funny.
Way to go Ryan, he is a personal acquaintance of mine!~
Wonder if the Soros puppets are there this year.
progressive gays are pro acorn? certainly not conservative
Maybe Conservative Christians ought to consider abandoning the Republican party then..wouldn’t put in skin off my back (God would defend us anyway, even if the Repugs do lose because they have abandoned Republican..Conservative) principles! CPAC is fill with establishment CINO types, I know from experience.
I don't think that bad advice. But, to bring it back around to the marriage issue - these proposed marriage laws have virtually nothing to do with to homosexuals marrying each other and everything to do with foisting a particular lifestyle acceptance in the broader community. These bills regulate how religious based charities manage their outreach programs, their adoption programs, how they hire staff as well as what kind of gay-friendly curriculum has to be taught in the local schools.
It seems the "gay agenda" has much less to to with what goes on in the bedroom between two consenting adults, and much more about how society is forced to accept such a lifestyle, without rebuke or comment.
The name of the group is a slander in and of itself. How or why the party ever accepted the infiltrators is beyond me.
Now we have another gay activist group of ringers pulling the same thing. And the Stupid (or worse) Party is falling for it again.
Are you nuts? Most of us don’t give a crap about what folks do in their bedrooms. It is they that want to make us make an issue of what they do in their bedrooms. I do not show up at tea parties and profess I am a heterosexual and seek special attention for that.
How freaking ridiculous. This is what happens when you start pandering to stupid special interests.
Let him know about this thread. He showed real bravery doing what he did.
If they could shut the hell up about what they do in their bedrooms, you might have a point.
It is my opnion that government should not be involved in marriage at at. There should be no marriage license. If government wasn’t involved in granting permission to get married (license) the homo/straight “marriage” dispute would not and could not exist.
We’ve already lost the party. We are now in the process of losing CPAC and may soon have the Tea Party at risk as GOP tries to “moderate the tone.”
Agreed I’ve got gay friends who don’t expect the world to conform to them. Why the hell should the GOP conform to this special interest?
“If we have gotten to the situation that the party’s existence depends on this issue, we have already lost.”
If homosexuals were content to shut up about their sexual proclivities and vote like conservatives, there would be no issue.
As it stands, they are not content to just be conservatives, but want to be issue-oriented activists within the party - specifically about an issue that will have huge implications for our, “individual and economic freedoms”.
Today MARKED THE END OF CPAC AS A FORCE WITHIN THE CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT.
Good job Ryan.
If the “gay vote” depended on the GOP reversing its position on gay marriage, they’re probably not Republicans, or at least not conservative. I am inclined to believe that a gay conservative would take a more libertarian stance on the issue of gay marriage: either keep it at the state level or have the government get out of the business of issuing marriage licenses altogether.
That being said, I am disheartened how one could be for smaller government, low taxes, and strong defense, and be called still be called a RINO if they don’t believe it’s the government’s job to promote social conservative values.
Well, just thinking out loud here - if they aren't involved in marriage at the beginning, they'll still be involved in marriage at the end. Even if you were to advocate that the marriage contract would be unrecognized in government, for purposes of taxes and such (which would be a bad, bad idea), the courts would still get dragged into it when one of these marriages end, either due to death or divorce.
It seems that it would be impossible to completely remove government from marriage, and I'm not sure it would be a good idea even if it was a possibility.
As if the GOP hasn’t alienated me enough in recent years with various big-government spending efforts and amnesty plans, if it goes all faggy too, I’m dumping it for keeps. The memories of Mark Foley kissy-courting teenage pages and Larry ‘wide stance’ Craig’s bathroom sleaze are nauseating enough. Hell, if the GOP starts supporting gay marriage, I’m going third-party in a split-second. There’s no way in HELL I’m going to sit by and tolerate that.
I agree. He was very brave.
I just watched the video. If you ever get the chance, let him know that was amazing.
Look, some people are gay and so what...
that is why they invented doors and curtains...
after that, I am not in favor of approving it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mostly, because of the oft heard slippery slope...
once any so-called alternative lifestyle gets the nod...
every pervert and deviant will get on that line to gain approval!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No matter how sick and twisted you are, if you can find someone like yourself...
you become a group and start clamoring for acceptance!!
The answer is NO!!
