“Where are the People of Color”– in MSNBC’s Lineup? Meltdown with Keith Olbermann Part 35
David Horowitz's NewsRealblog ^ | David Forsmark

Posted on 02/18/2010 8:22:56 AM PST by Michael van der Galien

I once did a lot of freelancing for a daily newspaper called The Flint Journal, whose editorial pages regularly and vociferously called for “affirmative action.” They were located in a majority black city, but very often they had few black writers and no black editors. If you wanted to keep working for them, pointing this out was not a good idea.

Last night, Keith Olbermann read reactions to his race-baiting rant the other night from conservative blogs Hot Air, GOPUSA, and the below bit from Meltdown with Keith Obermann Part 33:

FORSMARK: The next time Keith Olbermann calls you racist or any other hateful ephithet, take comfort in the fact that you are in the best possible company. In fact, if Keith Olbermann is not directing hate-filled rants of invective your way, that will be the time to second guess yourselves.

OLBERMANN “My resonse to this is: Where are the people of color at the tea partes.

That was Keith’s response to each of the 3 excerpts he read– all of which were carefully selected to avoid the following issue– which I did, indeed, raise in my post

So, My response to this is: Where are the People of Color in MSNBC’s Lineup?

Somebody needs to send Olberman a photo of the Crow Tribe tea partiers. His head will explode.

What is this garbage about no minorities in the TEA party movement? Are the protest leaders supposed to go door-to-door and round up black folks and MAKE them come?

Is is not just POSSIBLE that only a small minority OF minorities are conservatives and care about their children and grandchildrens’ futures that this minority so-called president is SELLING OUT?

1. Why doesn’t he give up his job and suggest they hire a person of color to replace him?

2. Is it possible that white folks pay most of the taxes, and therefore, they are the ones most PO’d about high taxes and therefore, they want to protest them?

For the greater good and racial diversity, Olbermann should give his chair to Al Sharpton.

OLBERMANN: And now the second of tonight’s “Quick Comments,” and still the topic is Tea. I wanted to give some equal time to those on the right who disagreed with the focus of Monday’s “Special Comment” that there is an alarming homogeneity at the so-called Tea Party events, and that this is not some sort of demographic coincidence. In other words, they’re almost all white people, and this is, in essence, a white people’s party.

I question the premise. Why is homogeneity itself a bad thing? Should not White People qua White People have the same right to organize around their legitimate group interests and grievances as any other group in our glorious multicultural tapestry mosaic of a nation?

Blacks have The United Negro College Fund, The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, The Urban League, The Congressional Black Cacaus and many others. Hispanics have La Raza, The Mexican American Legal Defense Fund and others. Jews have many organizations dedicated to Jewish concerns.

Why *shouldn't* the tea parties be primarily White? NAACP meetings are primarily Black. The NAACP still allows White people who are interested in Black issues, or American issues from a predominantly Black perspective to join their organization and attend their meetings. They are not a racially exclusive organization.

The Tea Parties are *at least* as open to minorities as the NAACP. Whether Blacks, in larger numbers, feel that the concerns of the Tea Party patriots are theirs or not is a decision that they will make, both individually and collectively. Given that 95% of black voters supported the Socialist Obama it would appear to me that few would agree with the basic Tea Party principles.

Given that places make up only about 14% of the USA, I would expect only .05 X .14 % of Tea Part participants to be black, assuming they felt totally welcome. That equals .007. Are we far off the 7 out of 1000 number? I think we may be exceeding it.

I've probably wasted too much time thinking about something Keith Olberman said. Time I can never get back...

the folks at the tea parties are those being hosed by the current policies and the up coming plans.

the majority of the ‘people of color’ benefit from the progressive plans... at least initially

Just like Cwissy Matthews, who gives the Tea Party Movement a hard time because it’s mostly white, yet lives in an exclusive, nearly all-white neighborhood-Cleveland Park, in DC. You have to work pretty hard not to be among blacks in DC-but Cwissy and his faux-populist ilk manage to do so.

His old boss, Tip O’Neill, was a proponent of forced busing in Boston-do you think his own fatso kids/grandkids had to go? Yeah, right. The Tipster lived in retirement in a luxury condo in nearly all-white Bethesda, Md. I’m sure if you asked him to name some of his black acquaintences, he would have come up with his maid, driver, etc-maybe the guy who shined his shoes.

The people who have to bear the brunt of these idiots and their policies are the working class whites who watched their neighborhoods, schools, etc ruined—and the blacks still caterwauling after they moved into nice areas wiith good schools and ruined them.

Cwissy, Tip, Olbermann, et al are above all that.-they only speak to condemn the victims for their “racism”....
