“If it werent for McCain, Palin would be nowhere right now.”
You know, I hear that alot, but I’m not so sure that’s true. There would be nothing wrong in biding your time and not linking yourself up to a RINO who supports amnesty, etc. Sarah could have said “no” and bided her time, and then ran when she finished being governor of Alaska. It would have been a fresh start without the RINO baggage of McCain.
She could’ve bided her time and ran later ... and she could’ve ended up remaining completely anonymous and unknown. If it weren’t for the nomination, she’d be anonymous and in Alaska ... and the Tea Party movement and GOP would be without its most inspirational leader.
McCain’s nomination of Sarah Palin may be the most significant and beneficial contribution of his entire political career. She didn’t attach herself to a RINO — he attached himself to her, and, in the process, may have inadvertently saved the conservative movement (and the country).
She could very well be the next Reagan, and I’m not sure we’d have been better off waiting another decade for her to emerge from Alaska.
