Maybe this is why the FReepathon banner seemed to be stuck in Chrome for the longest time.
No Chrome for me, it’s spyware.
Yes, just tried it again and this time as you stated, it did return freerepublic.com as the first listing.
All I can say is that on the particular XP home computer I was working on, it did not show up at all. Have no explanation for you, it seems to give the correct results now from this Redhat Linux box.

Ad-Aware doesn’t like FR. YMMV.
I’m using McAfee - they have a “Site Advisor” that gives FR a green light and the message, “We tested this site and didn’t find any significant problems”.
All I know is FR was fine before “someone” put on Ad-Aware and then it went bonkers. When I finally got rid of every last bit of Ad-Aware, FR ran fine again.
