The famine in 90’s may have some parallels with Ukrainian famine in 30’s. This is the second wave of starvation. I hazard to guess that, if another famine visited Ukraine some 10 years later after the initial one in 30’s, Ukrainians would have been less likely to sit around and wait for their death.
