Hey, rabs....

Have you ever considered that it's possible to respect and admire a President who didn't shrink government, and still hold those values and be disappointed that he didn't do what he campaigned on?

I am speaking, of course, of Ronald Reagan.

I wanted him to fulfill his campaign promise of getting rid of the department of education, but he didn't. I wanted him to succeed in shrinking government, but he didn't.

He did things I didn't agree with, and yet I never lost personal respect for him. I always knew he was a man of character and integrity, and that never wavered.

If you were a college student in 1988, you most likely would have been attacking me for the same things you attack me for now.

But history proved me right about Reagan, and I am old enough, and savvy enough to know that it will prove me right about George W. Bush too.

I thank God always for providing us TWO Godly, righteous, men of character and integrity to lead us when we were most in need of such leadership.

Hopefully maturity will give you some perspective, and you'll stop calling everyone a liberal who doesn't hate George W. Bush as you do. Actually, I see nothing conservative in any of the behavior of the Bush haters on this forum. And as a life long, across the board conservative, that disappoints me.

Deficit spending (i.e., imposing deferred tax increases, or otherwise passing the financial buck to a future generation) no matter how righteous or moral the cause is just plain wrong.

I don't give a damn how much "character and integrity" the man has. Both he and the Republican Congress (well, most of the Congress) campaigned like conservatives, but when the rubber met the road, they governed like progressives.

So go ahead. Make my day. "Respect and admire" the RINO Bush...but that doesn't make him any less of a skunk and a POS, nor does it make up for his pathetic record as the RINO who paved the way for the Marxist Obama.
