Can you direct me to the Scriptural context that supports that statement...NO, YOU CAN'T, BECAUSE IT IS NOT FOUND IN THE BIBLE!!!

No, that may not be found, but this is . . . .

For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

2 Thessalonians 3:10

Therefore, all welfare, or unemployment benefits that goes to those who sit around waiting for their gubmint check or debit card is not Scriptural. Gubmint welfare and unemployment benefits subsudizes sloth. Cut off their gubmint check and these lazy bums will find work real quick, maybe some of that work "Americans won't do", eh?

I hear ya, my friend. I wasn’t trying to be confrontational with my post. I realize that we have a role to play when it comes to serving God too. I am a very devout Christian it angers me that the church has become so apathetic in its participation in the political process in this country. The phrase “too spiritual minded to be any earthly good” quickly comes to mind.

I was teaching an after school class today and asked the kids to name a good role model or mentor in their lives. One said Obama because he is kind, loyal, and honest and another said his dad who just quit his job.

You have to work to get unemployment benefits in my state, and I think it is the same everywhere. The employer pays into a fund which subsidizes the benefits. Maybe some folks can make out okay on the pittance in relation to the former paycheck, but I know I couldn't. The benefits hit a cap way below my pay grade.

The big money isn't in scamming unemployment, or even welfare, even though that adds up. It is in the contracts to provide public housing, bailouts for votes bought with NINJA loans, and multiple other wasteful projects (like "Global Warming research") that pisses away billions at a shot rather than a few hundred here and there.

Criminy, the government was talking about removing even more land from useful productivity (and yes, oil and gas exploration) and making "National Monuments" out of it--at a cost of a grundle of dollars.

Just the studies alone to remove this land from useful ventures cost a fortune.

We need to take the same machete to the Federal budget I had to take to my own when I got laid off, and cut the unconstitutional dead weight out of the system.
