I agree. It was a setup that was so over the top it backfired and the editor had to resign. If you track down the cartoon it wasn't remotely funny, regardless of one’s stand on homosexuality.

Boyd K. Packer’s 1976 talk that suggested “flooring” a man who makes a pass at another man was funnier, but it still drew attention away from the point that chastity is the route God wants us to take. Using references to violence doesn’t help that argument.
