BARRE, Vt. An Iraq war veteran whose eyebrow was partially bitten off at his wedding reception in Vermont is testifying at the trial of his alleged attacker.
Thirty-five-year-old Kevin Gartland, of Fayston, is accused of aggravated assault and if convicted could face 15 years in prison.
Prosecutors say Gartland got into a fight with Ryan Kessler at Kessler's June 2008 wedding reception in Duxbury. After the two were separated, Gartland allegedly lunged at Kessler and bit him on the face.
Kessler lost half of his left eyebrow in the incident.

Vermont....so was the biter a war protestor, jilted ex of the bride or WAS HE the bride?
The Burlington, VT newspaper has the AP version, too.
Iknow the feeling. I’m just not worth a damn in the morning without biting an eyebrow off somebody first.
Well shoot, the story is not worth a darn without pictures.
Koko the gorilla was very frustrated. She kept signing brows brows brows brows.
It was months before the humans realized that she was asking for more snacks, the bits of lettuce and such that the humans referred to as browse...
Note left eyebrow.
He [Kessler] said he came to blows with Gartland after his sister told him Gartland had thrown a drink on her at the reception.
Kessler confronted him, and words led to shoving and then a flurry of punches. The fight lasted only seconds, according to Kessler. He said he had disengaged from Gartland and put his hands up when Gartland whom he knew only in passing as the boyfriend of his wifes cousin suddenly attacked, sinking his teeth into Kesslers forehead and gouging out a chunk of flesh and hair.
It was never found, despite efforts by the brides father and others, who combed the farm property with flashlights, looking.
