I don’t know if anyone caught it, but the Dobbs have a farm in NJ, and when Lou left CNN there was talk that he might run for the senate seat of the junior senator from NJ. So the joke would be that he didn’t want to wait for the election, and was standing behind Lautenberg when Lautenberg “fell” down the stairs.
