Scandinavia-gate --IPCC fails.. temperature today roughly similar to that of the 1930’s

Yet again, we have a situation where the data doesn’t match the full-gloss coloured graphs produced by the PR agency for global warming called the IPCC.

Frank Lansner and Nicolai Skjoldby have started a new blog Hide The Decline, and posted that Scandinavian data shows clearly that temperatures got markedly cooler from 1950-1970, before they began rising again, and even after the warming, they only appear to be back where they were. But, all the IPCC graphs minimize the cooling. It would be reasonable to conclude from the data that the temperature today in Scandinavia is roughly similar to that of the 1930’s. But, you’d never know this from looking at the IPCC graphs.

There is no “hockey stick warming” here. There is no unprecedented heat, and there is no good correlation with the rise of carbon dioxide either. Sure, this is just one region, not the globe, but this is yet another example of how the IPCC has not presented an honest assessment of the information.

Corroborating this information, sea surface temperatures around Scandinavia don’t show any rise. Indeed, the water appears to be cooler than it was 60-80 years ago. Where could that heat be hiding?

Go the Danes! What a great site. Go to “S” in the A-Z and read this timely article by Australian Peter Sawyer on the vital importance of terminology in what is essentially a social and cultural war. Being a linguist myself this is something I am acutely aware of and Peter makes a very good case:

See for yourselves, it is absolutely breathtaking. The site is the creation of The Australia Institute, the founder of which is none other than …. (drum roll) … Public Intellectual extraordinaire Professor Clive Hamilton, who was also until recently its Executive Director.

This doesn’t surprise me, however, as Hamilton is also the co-author of the book “Affluenza”, which my 16-year old son is currently having to read as part of the Year 12 (final high school year, for our overseas visitors) English curriculum. This book is in essence an ill-disguised political manifesto for anti-capitalism, anti-growth, anti-consumption, and pro “social justice” and green, minimalist lifestyle.

Michael attends a private, nominally Christian school, and still we get lumbered with this sort of dangerous c**p.

Thank God for Mark Lopez and “The Little Black Schoolbook” (google it and see …) I feel sorry for all the kids who don’t know of this excellent little antidote to educational indoctrination.

It's hard to be specific, but his demeanour has changed, he appears to be nervous and ill at ease. Aussies are very perceptive that way. They see Rudd uncomfortable in front of the cameras, uncharacterictically 'uncool' at Question Time in Parliament, whilst Tony Abbott grows in stature every day, as a down-to-earth fair dinkum Aussie who is doing his best to inform the public as to the potential cost to the economy of any Carbon Emission Trading Scheme...and btw, the Climate Czar Penny Wong has been 'missing in action' for quite some time...

Something is going on!

HA! And the 'stimulous package' included a rebate on home roof insulation, which, because they wanted to spend the money as quickly as possible, has resulted in numerous house-fires and the deaths of a number of householders and installers from electrocution, because the foil insulation material was incorrectly installed...foil insulation has now been banned...

LOL! It's not going at all well for them...there are calls for the resignation of Peter Garrett...
