You are wrong screaminsunshine! It's quite obvious you have never read the 14th amendment and are just relying on the leftist propaganda you were fed in government schools. Here's the actual text of the the first paragraph of the 14th amendment posted below. It says that in addition to being born or naturalized in the the US, they must be "subject to the jurisdiction thereof." A child born to an illegal alien is subject to the jurisdiction of a foreign county.
Amendment 14
1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
I agree, this “born on U.S. soil = automatic citizenship” is B.S.!
The Supreme Court has said that “subject to the jurisdiction of” means “not the children of foreign diplomats or occupying armies.” The children of illegal aliens are neither of those, so they would be citizens under the 14th Amendment.
