In all fairness, the Hareidi are a real PITA to live with, even for the vast majority of Jews. They have been growing increasingly strident and at times violent as their welfare has been reduced and the political power wanes.
That’s what I wanted to say. I would protest against haredim in my neighborhood!
Religious Zionists are not hareidi, who are often anti-Zionist. And I don’t think the Arabs have a problem with their affiliation, just their Jewishness. If the Arabs were blond and blue-eyed, the left would have no difficulty recognizing this for what it is, racist vandalism.
Well, in all fairness I’m not sure why Hareidi shouldn’t be allowed to live where they want. But the issue is simply about Jews, religious Jews, about 40% of Israel’s population, in the neighborhood.
Haredim aren’t Religious-Zionists! They are two different movements within Orthodox Judaism.
Get your facts straight.
