With all due respect, and I voted for Senator Brown, state senator to senator to president is a questionable career trajectory (for the county, that is). Executive experience is a definite plus for a presidential candidate.

Oh really? I recall a guy named John F. Kennedy served eight years in the Senate and then was elected President. Guess what state he came from.
