Subsonic .22s are great, Calibri makes some that
are just the primer and are VERY quiet. Used to
shoot down the hall in the mobile home I lived in
for a while, a 12” sq of sheet metal and a phone book
worked great for a back stop, neighbors never heard
a thing.

It’s usually safer to turn the basement into a firing range. The third story should be reserved for the sniper’s nest.
