Heard a report this morning that she got her notice about no tenure several months ago.

More to this story.

My husband’s comment — “She doesn’t look feminine at all. I think she’s a dyke.”

"not as good as she thought she was."

Sounds like a lot of the Harvard einsteins mucking up Washington DC these days.

Now she is going to plead insanity. Friggin’ liberal Democrat supporters all blame someone else besides themselves. The believe that dishonesty is the best policy and every one owes them something. Spread the wealth to every one except those in power that wish to keep their power. When things do not go their way they try to destroy (kill) those that are in their way. Its the Democrat Liberal Progressive way....Obamas way...our country is in peril.

I’d bet she’s been a gun grabber sometime along the way.

This article provides some interesting details. It seems that her colleagues did not view her research as outstanding. She probably had an inflated view of her accomplishments. Her teaching record probably created some difficulty for the department. Her department probably voted negatively for her tenure due to a combination of less than outstanding research and problematic teaching. They must have had some reservations about keeping her in perpetuity.

You are probably correct about the tenure notice. Tenure involves a series of evaluations starting from the department or college level. Each higher level reviews the lower level and performs some additional evaluation. She was probably given a negative vote at the lowest level that was confirmed at higher levels. She would have known about the negative vote at the department and college levels before the holiday break.

She needs a very close encounter with a lethal experiment. She can test the hypothesis of her immortality in this experiment. I trust the good citizens of Alabama to show no mercy.

Three others were wounded in the incident Friday — a rare instance of a woman being accused in a mass shooting. Amy Bishop, 42, a Harvard-educated neurobiologist who became an assistant professor at the school in 2003, has been charged with capital murder. A "person of interest" also was being interviewed.

“”It didn’t happen. There’s no way. ... They are still alive.”

“i am from harvard .. i must have tenure...”

Time for some introspection......

“You may ask yourself, where does that highway lead to?
You may ask yourself, am I right, am I wrong?
You may say to yourself, my god, what have I done? “

It will be interesting to find out why she was denied tenure. Likely, she just didn’t meet research and teaching standards and she thought “I’m from Harvard and this is Alabama, therefore I should get tenure just for that fact.”

I was always amazed in graduate school at the number of people (the considerable majority at my university) who chose teaching for a career but who ZERO talent for it and all too often, no apparent interest in the job. Mumblers, those dripping with condescension, professors without a spark of energy, those who had not one whit of concern as to whether they were imparting anything of value nor whether the students learnt anything. Maybe it goes back to the whole notion of tenure — once you’ve got it, you don’t have to give a grain of salt as to your job performance.
