A man robbed a Minneapolis bank by threatening tellers with a hypodermic needle, saying he had AIDS and nothing to live for, according to Minneapolis FBI.

At 3 p.m. on Friday, the FBI said a man walked into a TCF Bank located at 1444 W. Lake St., holding the needle that appeared to contain blood. He demanded cash from all three duty tellers.

After tellers complied with his demand, he placed the cash into a red plastic bag and was last seen entering an ABC taxi, FBI said.

The man is being decribed as a white male, 6-foot-1-inches to 6-foot-2-inches tall and 170 to 190 pounds. He was wearing a dark knit cap, facial covering, black jacket, black gloves, black shoes, blue jeans, and carrying a red plastic bag.

Anyone with information regarding the bank robbery is asked to contact the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, the Minneapolis Police Department or Crime Stoppers.

Not sure about TCF, but my bank doesn't prohibit permit holders from carrying on their property....

A tiny needle is not much of a weapon, evidently irrational fear makes some people fear it to the extent that they won’t fight. A knife is much worse.
