Obama Is Making Plans to Use Executive Power for Action on Several Fronts

WASHINGTON — With much of his legislative agenda stalled in Congress, President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities.

Mr. Obama has not given up hope of progress on Capitol Hill, aides said, and has scheduled a session with Republican leaders on health care later this month. But in the aftermath of a special election in Massachusetts that cost Democrats unilateral control of the Senate, the White House is getting ready to act on its own in the face of partisan gridlock heading into the midterm campaign.

“We are reviewing a list of presidential executive orders and directives to get the job done across a front of issues,” said Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff.

Any president has vast authority to influence policy even without legislation, through executive orders, agency rule-making and administrative fiat. And Mr. Obama’s success this week in pressuring the Senate to confirm 27 nominations by threatening to use his recess appointment power demonstrated that executive authority can also be leveraged to force action by Congress.

Mr. Obama has already decided to create a bipartisan budget commission under his own authority after Congress refused to do so. His administration has signaled that it plans to use its discretion to soften enforcement of the ban on openly gay men and lesbians serving in the military, even as Congress considers repealing the law. And the Environmental Protection Agency is moving forward with possible regulations on heat-trapping gases blamed for climate change, while a bill to cap such emissions languishes in the Senate.

In an effort to demonstrate forward momentum, the White House is also drawing more attention to the sorts of actions taken regularly by cabinet departments without much fanfare.

Yes he’s going to relieve the pressure somehow...the question is how...I think alot of his pressure is coming from those pulling his strings...calling the shots. It’s showing ,just as you say, in his apperance.

Also the instability now of our country is causing, of course, fallout on the international scene...so there’s pressure from there as well.

Exacly why we must do everything possible to get a majority hold of both houses of congress this fall. In particular in the House, because they hold the purse strings, and I believe it is the House where we have the greatest potential to win a majority.

I believe that 3/4 of Congress can overturn an EO if done within 30 days. Of course it’s not going to happen. I also thought there were limitions on the types of EO’s a President could enact. Rahm sounds like a lot more over reaching is being considered here.

And any Congress has the power of the purse. Should the GOP regain control of Congress they can simply cutoff the funding so bambi's "administrative fiats" don't go anywhere.

Before Barry gets writing cramp from all these ILLEGAL Executive Orders, here's two words he should remember.

As I recall those events, from the opening of court, to execution, it took about 40 minutes. Being a dictator today ain't it's all cracked up to be.

Most of zeros agenda could never pass in Congress without many or most losing their jobs. His handlers knew this before he ever took office,IMHO.

Therefore to advance Marxism as fast he his handlers want, Presidential powers would have to be a large part of his tenure as Manchurian-in-charge.

What we should be looking into and hopefully are,is what has already transpired and how many little Marxist gems are already in place that we don't know about and have not screamed about to the world.

Rush let one go Friday when he exposed the little gem passed in Michigan where members/owners whatever of any daycare centers receiving Fed. assistance are automatically signed up as union members and dues are deducted from what ever money they receive from Federal assistance monies.

How many other little gems like this are out there and being used against free people now and that we don't know about should be the question.

Most of what you say is correct but I disagree with your analysis. Zero is and always has been simply a Manchurian.

If you look closely he has never stopped running for office since that was and always will be his job. Simply to run!

To think that he is as invested as a Saul Alinsky, Malcolm X or even a William Ayers who wrote his infamous book, is to attribute much more intelligence to this impostor than he actually has IMHO.

A controversial billboard along Highway 41 is catching people’s attention. It calls for President Obama to be removed from office.

The spot, near the Oshkosh Correctional Institute, is also becoming a popular spot for motorists to pull over and snap a picture.

“The sign kind of struck me as being very forceful. I was driving up to Green Bay this morning and saw it. It just surprised me that a sign like that would be out there, that blatant,” said Gary Fox, of Waukesha.

Fox said he agrees with the ‘Impeach Obama’ billboard. The tagline is: ‘America’s small businesses are failing, help us spread the message.’goes on to say, “America’s Small Businesses Are Failing.”
