"Are you good without God? Millions are" is the message on 10 new billboards in the Sacramento, CA area. The billboards, which are part of a nationwide campaign that began last year, were put up by the Sacramento Area Coalition of Reason. It's an umbrella organization for a variety of groups including the First Atheist Church of True Science, Humanist Association of the Greater Sacramento Area, Sacramento Area Skeptics, and Atheists and Other Freethinkers.
Sponsors of the "good without God" billboards say it's not an attack on theism but, instead, a message directed to their own community.
"It's a way of reaching out to people," said Fred Edwords, national director of United Coalition of Reason (quoted in the Sacramento Bee). "Many folks who think like us think they are the only ones." "We non-theists are your family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers," said Rachael Harrington, coordinator of the Sacramento group, in a news release. "We're just like you, except we don't believe in a supreme being. It's about time we were equally free to be open about our views."
Sorry, I have a dark sense of humor at times.
The State Capitol is not a literal portal to hell. It just occasionally seems that way.
lol...
OK
I don’t agree. But I guess it really depends on one’s reference.
Bingo.
They really want everyone to know about it as if it is some badge of honor for them.

Replace “atheist” with “christian” and you definitely got it. It seems to be the rare Christian who doesn’t have a need to constantly broadcast his faith.
*********
Actually, I see very few of either atheist or Christian broadcast their faith. And I only see attacks from either on-line from the safety of their throne rooms in their PJs.
Having been both, I pray for the atheist to know the peace I know, and I pray for the Christian to walk the walk and to be a good witness for Jesus, not just to thump people over the head with the Bible. I never found the Christianity of thumpers attractive.
I'd prefer you quit warning me about imaginary trucks that are constantly about to supposedly hit me, as opposed to the other trucks that other people are telling me are going to hit me.
Well, you’ll be facing that real truck some day.
Can’t say you weren’t warned.....
Perhaps an absolute value system isn’t necessary? Perhaps God puts an individual value system into each of us, along with the need to conform to whatever social values/mores are in existence at the time.
What if you saw the truck, but he was looking at the same place, and didn’t see a truck? He may think you were crying wolf. Firstly, the truck has to exist doesn’t it? That would require proof of the trucks existence, which, if he didn’t see it, would be impossible for you to prove...until after the fact (providing he did get hit by the truck).
All in all, very complicated.
I think the flesh balks at the idea that it isn't already heavenly.
