Imagine my surprise just now when I picked up the phone and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio was on the other line! At first I thought it was Max Cannon pulling another prank, but then I realized it was really was Sheriff Joe, or at least a robot version of him, inviting me to downtown's El Presidio Park at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, to meet J.D. Hayworth, the former congressman who is chewing Sen. John McCain's ass.
Robo-Joe said something to the effect that McCain had supported amnesty and cap-and-trade legislation. Oh, that McCain! Such a lib. (BTW: Arizona's senior senator is scheduled to be our guest on Arizona Illustrated's Friday Roundtable next Friday, Feb. 19.)
Anyway, thanks the invite, Sheriff. You can bet I'll be there!

I really think that Palin has made a major mistake here - although It can be understood since he selected her for Vice President. Too bad though that she does not see him for what he is (or pretends to not notice)... Either way, if McCain is elected again, I and many others may just give up on political parties. McCain really needs to be ousted with a heavy vote against him. At least this would show that the voters will no longer put up with his type of shenanigans. That alone would give hope to the Tea Party movement.
JD has a secret weapon.......Meghan McCain
A sad irony, inasmuch as Palin is supporting the RINO. . .
Sometimes loyalty is a vice. If McLame called her personally, it certainly would be very hard to say no. After all, in a very perverse way, McLame is responsible for her current favor.
I don't think it can be understood; save for 'politics as usual' labeling. We all know what happened to Sarah; and McCain was SILENT! She gave her thanks; she does not need to sacrifice what are her - or appear to be - her core principles.
McCain IS a RINO. JD IS a Conservative. That should have been Sarah's ending point and beginning point. Sadly; it is not.
Yes, I can understand why she could not say no, but do not like it. She is still making a mistake here...and will face a bit of fallout with her fans. Hopefully, McCain will lose big and have no effect on her support, but that is just a bit optimistic. Even if he loses, she will feel a bit of the fallout (and really, she should). She is going to make mistakes, but this one was easily avoided - she chose not to.
I agree, which is why I can not understand her continued support for him. It will be her loss though - maybe not too much since he was instrumental in her current position, but he just simply is not anywhere near her position of strength with the voters. Hopefully, McCain will fail badly.
GREAT news, I’ll bet this support from Sheriff Joe is making McStain’s sphincter pucker up.
I say Sheriff Joe for GOVERNOR!
Too bad Sarah didn’t do like Sen. Him DeMint & refuse to comment on who she supported in the McCain / Hayworth race.
I think that this may be Palin's undoing. Hayworth more clearly represents what Palin stands for unlike McCain. Hayworth is the breath of fresh air we need in the Senate. Palin should have found a polite way to stay out of this fracas.
Yep... of course she was obligated somewhat. Too bad though that she decided to support such a non Republican (Mr. Media hound - and big spender). Oh well, we shall see just how much that is a detriment to her popularity. It should drop a bit and rightfully so... She should realize that every time that she does this, she loses just a bit more...
She is the not so secret weapon against all things RINOS and Progressive. Keep talkin' sweetheart! She is a gift that keeps on giving....
Ha...you’ve got that right! She even says she is a progressive which gives it all away (for the knowledgeable). She is such a kook that JD should win big if she continues with her support of her father. I just hope she campaigns for him in all live appearances and all of his commercials. We could then be assured of a win - McCain defeated!
Go J.D. send Juan McLame in to the trash can of history.
Well, I hope J.D. (and by association Sherriff Joe. ..) can rise above what will be no only Sarah and John; but Scott Brown who will also be campaigning for McCain. Think if McCain were to lose; the pundits will blame Sarah the most; and challenge the strength of Brown as well and ‘of course’. No really pretty picture here. J.D. does have a fight on his hands; when he really shouldn’t. . .
Well, most of us realize that Brown is really a moderate but was necessary to stop Health Care. He may not be elected again depending upon his votes this year.
“It’s Hayworth and the Sheriff against the entire open borders RINO wing of the GOP “
True, but don’t write the 2 guys off.....they have a hugh and series following here .
B U M P
“We can’t forget the Jack Abramoff problem too, which McCain could use against him.”
McCain uses a phony slander on JD, and McCain is finished.
