Well one thing is for sure. His stent would have cost a lot more since medical devices are to be heavily taxed under Obamacare.

For all who may be in a situation like this, do not let them give you the coated stents. You have to take Plavix for the rest of your life or they will clog faster than the non coated.

I have two stents pre the coating. At the time I was upset that they were all ready using them in Europe but had not been approved in this country. I have had mine for 10 years and take no proscription Staten and do a lot of things I shouldn't.

At first I was mad that I couldn't have then. Then I found out about having to take Plavix and it's side effects. Now I feel damn lucky not to have them.

This is from the Drugs.com ........http://www.drugs.com/sfx/plavix-side-effects.html

I only listed the first part. There is about twice as much info for doctors at the link.

Side Effects of Plavix - for the Consumer

Plavix

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Plavix:

Easy bruising; minor bleeding.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Plavix:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); bleeding in the eye; change in vision; change in the amount of urine; chest pain; dark or bloody urine; black, tarry stools, unusual or severe bleeding (eg, excessive bleeding from cuts, increased menstrual bleeding, unexplained vaginal bleeding, unusual bleeding from the gums when brushing.); loss of appetite; pale skin; seizures; severe, persistent headache; sore throat or fever; speech problems; unusual bruising; weakness; unexplained weight loss; yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Would Clinton have died under Obamacare?

What an inherently stupid question. Of course not. The ruling elite in this country Republican, Democrat, Independent...whatever will always have the best of medical care. They will be the ones who have underground bunkers that all of us paid for to hide in if the shit ever its the fan.

You are so right. One health care system for the ruling elite and one system for the un-washed masses!

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

New Dem mantra: Woof, woof eat dog food granny....ala let them eat cake.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

Snip

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

Although clinton, as a “public official”, would have been exempt from DeathCare, the whole clinton chest-pains episode shows why we must NEVER pass it:

1. Although a 63-year-old man, being a bit too young for Medicare, would not have been in the “immediate rationing” group, he would not be in the “highest priority for health care” group (Sunstein). After age 65, he might be just given a pain pill and left to die. Yes, clinton will need another procedure in a few years.

2. Every stent used would have been taxed.

3. As an “obese” individual eating an “unhealthy diet”, he would have been harassed by government apparatchiks (perhaps low-IQ goons from ACORN or SEIU), told what to eat (on a one-size-fits-all basis), and charged a surcharge for failing to meet weight goals.

[Note: Weight is as heritable as height, one-size-fits all does not work, and although a healthy diet plus exercise is likely to lower the risk factors of overweight/obesity, it is not likely to result in significant. long-lasting weight loss. Besides that, we want FREEDOM, not some government bozo telling us what to eat!!!!]
