Former state Attorney General Kelly Ayotte remains the strongest Republican running against Democratic Congressman Paul Hodes in New Hampshires race for the U.S. Senate, but the numbers have changed very little over the past few months.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state shows Ayotte leading Hodes 46% to 39%. Three percent (3%) prefer another candidate, and 13% are undecided.
A month ago, Ayotte led Hodes 49% to 40%. In September, it was a 46% to 38% race with the Republican ahead.
Hodes still holds his own, however, against two other GOP hopefuls. He leads Ovide Lamontagne, an attorney who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 1996, by a six-point margin, 44% to 38%. Four percent (4%) like some other candidate, and 13% are undecided. This match-up is little changed from a month ago.

The fat porker is NOT getting reelected.
who is the current occupant of the people’s seat in NH that this race concerns?
LOL! Hope and Change.
What fat porker? There is no incumbent here.
I believe it’s Republican Senator Judd Gregg, who doesn’t seek for reelection.
Judd Gregg is not going to run for a third term.
Hodes is a state incumbent.
Kelly Ayotte is our best candidate for this seat; hopefully NH primary voters will agree.
Good news.
It’s a shame that Ayotte is generally anti-gun. It’ll be interesting to see if she tries to reform her record on this point.
It sounds like she’s trying to turn it around on that point. We’ll see.
She’s one of the main reasons the “stand your ground” bill was defeated, and has stood idly by during a number of different abusive prosecutions of self-defenders in New Hampshire, so she’s going to have a lot of groveling to do if she wants to persuade anyone she’s changed her tune.
