I’m betting that they didn’t poll anyone actually IN the military—except, perhaps, gays. Everyone I know who’s serving or has served is against this. Strongly.
At the same time a poll is released that shows Palin approval numbers way low....
Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm...
Wag that dog!
How much of this so-called “majority” would be willing and able to serve in the military if called upon to do so?
Does the “Majority” have a DD-214 if not then I don’t give a ^(^( what the “majority” thinks! ^(*^%*& You!
The only majority that should count comprises the men and women of the Armed Forces.
Well we know from Obama to ignore the polls cause they are just wrong. When he sees this poll he will probably change course and go with the minority, such is his political acumen.
No homos in the military!! Worst idea ever!!
Did the poll have a choice of: Yes - in the front lines only?
I find this hard to believe. They should look for a more honest approach to this poll and ask the men and women who serve in the military. I do not believe the military supports this.
Sorry,I'm not buying it.
How is it that a very small percentage of perverts command so much power?
Gays may be serving in the military now and doing a good job - precisely because they must keep it hidden.
Once homosexuality is in the open in the military, the cultural rot begins.
Political correctness is death by a thousand pin-pricks. While the problems may not be obvious immediately, but when they do become obvious, it will be far too late.
We all know that Americans in 2010 are way too holy and righteous to approve of homosexuality. Debauchery is limited to tv and movies and maybe California. Poll must be bogus.
Voters from military households with an active or reserve member or a veteran in their family split 48 - 47 percent on ending "don't ask; don't tell."--- In my interpretation...Support for repeal is 72 - 23 percent among Democrats and 56 - 37 percent among independent voters.
Republicans oppose repeal 53 - 40 percent.
40% of Republicans don't oppose repeal (or in other words 60% are presumed to not be advocating this new policy change).
Military families are split dead even on this (for/against), they probably needed a bigger sample pool.
This was found in the same poll:
Terror TrialsAmerican voters say 59 - 35 percent that 9/11 terrorism suspects should be tried in military courts rather than in civilian courts, as currently planned. Voters say 68 - 25 percent that terrorism suspects should not receive all of the constitutional protections afforded by a civilian trial. Democrats prefer civilian courts 48 - 45 percent. Support for military courts is 73 - 23 percent among Republicans and 61 - 33 percent among independent voters.
The suspect who allegedly tried to blow up an airliner on Christmas Day should be tried as an enemy combatant rather than as an ordinary criminal, voters say 76 - 19 percent. But voters approve 52 - 42 percent of the FBI's advice to the suspect of his right to remain silent.
I see percents but I don't see the number of participants of each political ideology.
Poll: Majority Supports Gays in Military In The Lead Humvee On The Roads That Have Been Mined
There, fixed it.
Quinnipiac is biased toward the left. Also, note that the respondents say that it’s OK for gays to serve, but that they should “limit displaying their sexual orientation on the job.”
In other words, they don’t quite understand the question, since that’s pretty much what “don’t ask, don’t tell” is. Clinton’s policy was actually a slight liberalization, since the previous policy was theoretically that it was wrong for gays to be in the military at all.
Also, as already said, I doubt whether they phoned any military bases to ask for responses. So they may have gotten a few vets, but the poll still was biased—in addition to their usual leftish bias.
