Nope, they're made by a company called CTS in Indiana. They're also sold to Ford, which was using them in some commercial vehicles they were selling in China. That's where the China angle in the story showed up a couple weeks ago.
A lot of people think that Toyota's not being honest here, and that they were trying to shift the blame onto a non-Japanese supplier rather than admit it's their fault.
