Iranian threat of a stunning punch causes concern in D.C.

WASHINGTON (KMOX Radio) -- A warning earlier this week from Iran's supreme ruler that his country will deliver a "punch" February 11th that will "stun" the West is being taken seriously at the highest levels of the U-S government, according to Missouri's two Senators.

Democratic Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill described the concern about Iran today in Washington as a matter of "almost hyper focus."

"I know the military is monitoring it carefully. I know the intelligence community is monitoring it carefully. I can't share many of the details of that. But I will say that I think our government is very, very, very concerned."

Earlier this week, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a speech that: "The Iranian nation, with its unity and God's grace, will punch the arrogance (Western Powers) on the 22nd of Bahman (February 11) in a way that will leave them stunned."

One thing that has always stuck in my mind about President Bush when he was first elected. He made a statement one time that he didn’t want the next generation of weapons for our military. He wanted three generations out. Seems to me we have not accomplished that due to politics.

But does anyone here have any info on this?

Of course there are some here with info, but

Those who know don't talk, & those who talk, don't know.

Already done...

Last week Iran successfully launched a rocket into space. The media yawned. The only thing they found interesting about the launch was that the rocket had a rat, two turtles and a worm on board. But they don’t look any further than that.

LOL, would you mind defining ‘advanced’?

This could be Obama’s version of Carter’s desert rescue debacle and doom him to one term.

In the real world, yes. But today, with a fully complying media, it will be blamed on GWB, Clinton, Bush Sr., Carter, Reagan ... anyone but Obama.

LOL, "almost hyper focus." What drivel. I guess that means they are making the cross-eyed look or something (while they obsess over the snowstorm).

True. And that worries me a bit. Is the threat serious or just more hot air from these idiots? The fact that no one can (or is willing) to talk about it probably does not bode well. Hope I am wrong, but I have a bad feeling on this.

That last guy who played threatening games against us was last seen dangling from a rope in his overcoat and fedora

Yes, but the last guy wasn't facing a sissy in the Oval Office.

Claire will get the Iranians under control by using her “mom voice” as she threatened during last summer’s town halls.

True...they will analyze snowstorms to death, but that they just briefly report and move on. The first thing I thought about was satellites. Namely, ours being targeted by Iran in some manner. An information crisis instead of a nuclear one.

“He wanted three generations out. Seems to me we have not accomplished that due to politics.”

Of all the things I need to know about, this is not one of them. I’d rather we didn’t know, and then read about how Israel launched an airstrike on a Northern Syrian nuclear facility, and returned safely without the Syrian’s firing a single shot.

If we’ve got the capability, then I hope we use it, we do it in a low key way if we can, and it gets the job done.
