While she is certainly correct about these flaws, she left out a few things over that 8 year record.

*2 substantial across the board tax cuts

*2 well qualified conservative SCOTUS nominees

*Promoted and signed ban on partial birth abortion

*Fostered a booming economy

*Tried to partially privatize SS, which his own party torpedoed.

*Did not lift a finger to support the global warmers

*Reigned in the EPA

*Killed Clinton’s workplace ergonomics OSHA job killer

*Signed off on protecting gun manufacturers from the John Edwards of the world.

*Waterboarded enemy combatants.

*Refused US involvement in the ICC

*Killed off the ABM treaty

*And the biggest gift of all - He defeated Algore and John F’n Kerry

None of this matters to Malkin. If she has any concern for our nation at all, it takes a far back seat to her own bloated estimation of herself and her bleatings.

Add to your list of Dubya accomplishments the political nominees across Exec. branch departments and agencies that worked for 8 hard years trying to unravel the damage done by eight years of Clintoon appointments. I don’t know much about HSA, but I do know several Bush appointees in other Departments, and I know the horror stories of what they encountered, all the while working against a hostile Government employee establishment, a hostile press, and in ‘01-03, and from ‘06 onward, a hostile Congress.

It’s certainly not uniform, but for the most part these folks did untold good for the nation.

Thank you for reminding us about what good things GWB did during his years in office.

I am not a big MM fan. Use to like her but her negativity seems to just bug me lately.

She is not a Sarah Palin who can make you proud to be an American, ditto for the first 4 years of President Bush.

Thank you P;)

As Sarah Palin said: “There is no such thing as a perfect candidate”.

George Bush did not have the luxury of a conservative GOP majority in Congress - only a GOP majority for a limited time. There is a difference.

Thank you. It is easy to be against someone who has success and failures. GWB let Tom Delay and Denny Hastert run congress and run up the debt, because he was trying to run down OBL and that once famous dictator in Iraq.

Did anyone mention his set up of missile defense in eastern Europe? If Jeffords had not swithced parties in his first term we might ahve seen a little better list of judges too.

I've argued with Ohiowfan about Bush's downside before, and generally agree with Malkin's article.

I'd like you to respond to Pissants list in post 37 please. I noticed you didn't.

Amen and Amen.

And did it all while ignoring the most horrible attack machine this world as ever seen. I thought that the Stalin machine used agains his former comrades was bad, but the MSM attacked Bush at every breath and every turn. And President Bush just smiled and kept right on walking over them. That is class.
