Although our current projection continues to show that the Democrats will retain control of the U.S. Senate (52-48), we have now downgraded their chances in the following three states:
Connecticut (D-Dodd, retiring) Washington (D-Murray) Wisconsin (D-Feingold)
Each race has moved from DEM HOLD to LEAN DEM HOLD.
TOPICS: Government; Politics/Elections; US: Connecticut; US: Washington; US: Wisconsin
KEYWORDS: 111th; 2010midterms; feingold; gopcomeback; murray; obama; senate

Would LOVE and see the GOP take Connecticut after the Chris Dodd tap-and-shuffle. Can you imagine his face the next day after he was persuaded to step aside so that the party can hold the seat? (would be sort of like Marian Hossa after Stanley Cup Game 7 last spring)

This is good news. I also sure hope that our Republicans remaining in Congress are putting together their plans... If we don’t perform, we’ll be in trouble 2012.

Dick Morris disagrees with this blog mentioned. Perhaps they should compare notes and come up with a factual prognostication?

Sure I’d love to see it but I wouldn’t count on it. As soon as Dodd, who was trailing everyone dropped out, the democrat Attorney General Blumenthal stepped in he’s now ahead by about 30 points.

Wisconsin might be a pretty good test of the Tea Party movement strength. It’s a red state with big blue blobs in the urban areas. Madison is “25 square miles surrounded by reality”. I think a good R canddiate could give him a real run.

true ah well time will tell
probably best case scenario would be for us to take the House and at least split the Senate so the Dems still have nominal control
that way with the white house still in Dem hands that would probably be the focal point for voter antipathy
assuming of course things dont get radically better between now and then

If we cheesheads can defeat Feingold and Obey (My congresscritter) this could go down as one of the great elections in Wisconsin history.
