Unless they are citizens, they shouldn't be voting. If they are citizens I'm wondering why they want to ruin this wonderful country?
To: rabscuttle385
Let the wetbacks try it. I don’t think “blanket amnesty” is one of the Tea Partiers most favorite topics.

About two years ago these same LaRaza jokers thought they’d shut the country down with a national strike. Nothing much happened except retail sales jumped slightly.

Since the Dems are the ones in power, and it is uncontested on this issue (since McCain and Graham will support them), then it seems like LaRatza will be throwing the Dems out of power, if they don’t get their cherished Amnesty.
Seems like a good deal for the Republicans to simply block it then.

“
Latino leaders and groups are similarly frustrated with Republicans.” Yeah?
The same Latinos who voted overwhemongly for the biggest Marxist this country has ever seen, despite McCain working harder than anyone to try and pass an amnesty bill?
Why the heck would Republicans give two hoots what the Latinos think?
” They feel that the GOP is promoting and campaigning on an anti-immigration agenda in hopes of attracting so-called “tea party” voters who prefer stricter policing of the U.S. border to a comprehensive policy, which they consider to be amnesty for illegal immigrants already in the country”
Which is exactly right.

- Build the fence and enforce the border.
- Vigorously prosecute employers of illegal aliens.
- Deport illegal aliens on contact with LE.
Do that and illegal aliens will deport themselves.

...they’re warning McCain? And amnesty is their core issue?
Is that a joke?
If they were really up to speed on the issue, they would know that MCCAIN WROTE THE AMNESTY BILL.
And they’re threatening not to support Republicans because of it?
That’s like Free Republic threatening not to back Democrats unless they go pro-Soldiers....

Do they think we are stupid? There is nothing to win by passing amnesty. Anyone who would be for amnesty for illegals would vote for the Rats anyway.

Latinos say their votes could tip 40 congressional races (SEIU, La Raza warn McCain, GOP on amnesty BS. All sorts of groups claim they are the swing vote in this or that election, all in an attempt to embellish and exaggerate their electoral importance. The biggest swing vote in 2008 was the white guilt vote, and that vote seems to have mostly come to its senses.
The thing about all these claims to Latino political power is that, if immigration laws were enforced and no amnesty granted, all these trends of Latino growth in the population would not happen as currently projected. And La Raza and other groups and Dim politicians know it.
