May I suggest that Meghan has a misunderstanding the intent of the Tea Party Movement? It's not supposed to have a “leader” or a single large “band of followers.” Each Tea Party member decides who he/she will support based on our own research. And for the most part, we're not contributing to PACs, we're giving directly to the candidate. Yes, it means that Tea Partiers may be supporting more than one candidate in the Primaries or Caucuses. But that's okay because that's the way it was intended by the Founding Fathers. After the Primaries, Tea Partiers will support one candidate [or possibly more if there's a strong third party in that voting district].

We want the Democrats and the Republicans to see us as a Major Threat to their Liberal agendas. We don't support either Party. If the Parties want our votes, then the Parties must change their agendas.

Discussion on other groups [Patriotic Resistance and others] centers around the various groups not combining into one group. If we are “just” one large group with the same agenda, we will end up like Ross Perot after the 20-10 and 20-12 elections. By being a number of smaller groups and by allowing ourselves to support candidates individually [or as a smaller group vs the two million who showed up in DC on 9-12] we keep both the DNC and the RNC off balance. They can't focus their resources against just one “Tea Party” group nor can they work toward dividing us or fracturing us nor can they win the support of all Tea Partiers by winning the support of one group of us. We're not yet a “united force.” We will become united, but we'll decide when and for whom.

We all know that in 20-10’s election, we will be electing RINOs because Tea Partiers prefer a RINO to a Progressive Democrat if it comes down to that. We all know that high profile politicians will throw their support for one candidate in a Primary while many of the Tea Party inspired groups may support different candidates in the same race. Again, it's the way the Founding Fathers planned it to be. “May the best man/woman win” is not just a platitude, it's a reality in the Tea Party Movement.

Another thing to remember is that although many of us support Sarah Palin, there are just as many Tea Partiers who support Pence, Pawlenty, Jindal, DeMint, Huckabee, Romney, and others. Sarah Palin Does Not Speak for the Entire Tea Party Movement. She's just “one of many” at this point and there is the likelihood that she may not be the Presidential nominee for the Republican Party in 20-12. Tea Partiers have learned not to put all their eggs in one basket. We've also learned that there's not going to be a “one candidate fits all Tea Parties” running for any office. We have to decide who to vote for based on that person's character, record and platform.

If the RNC/GOP wants Tea Party endorsement, then they will of necessity have to move to Center Right and take a firm stand in their platform on certain “inalienable rights” Tea Partiers whole-heartedly support. But the RNC/GOP needs to remember that the Tea Party Movement has learned how valuable our votes and support are and we will NOT give our blessing and votes to a candidate just because the RNC/GOP endorses that candidate. The same holds true for the DNC as well. There are Tea Partiers who will support “blue dog
Democrats.”

The Tea Party Movement is focusing on more than National Elections. We're getting political and running for our local school boards, County commissions, and State legislatures. We are going to have an impact on the entire political spectrum. In less than half a dozen election cycles, the Tea Party Movement will be the driving force in politics in the United States. We will have accomplished this by being true to ourselves and to our individual freedoms. And we will not have “one leader” even if we endorse one candidate.

The Tea Party Movement is an anomaly. We are an independent, populist, political anomaly.

Maybe some but not all. The way I see it, if we keep on voting for them they'll keep on running and I, for one, want them OUT. THEY ran the show for most of the last dozen years and I dare say they did more harm in that time than the Democrats in the four decades preceding.

NO WAY will I support any more of that. NO RINOS, NO MORE!
