Republicans at the table ( Dems - “call their bluff” )

Democrats seem to have entered the “call their bluff” phase of running Washington.

Republicans complained about being left out of the back room in health care — now they’ve been invited to a televised bargaining session with President Obama. Republicans are blocking dozens of White House nominees — now Democrats are ready to force those filibusters and push uncomfortable votes. Republicans have presented alternative budgets that call for partial privatization of Social Security — now Democrats may call a vote on that very proposal just to get GOP lawmakers on the record on a potentially unpopular idea.

Whether this will lead to actual deals or just more political theater remains to be seen. But Democrats believe the confrontations will force Republicans to start playing ball on big issues.

Instead the GOP should hold a summit on private sector jobs creation. Tell Barry he can come if he wants but he better take notes because there’s a test in the end.

Sure, they do. Keep doing what they have been doing for the past year.

NOTHING! No health care, no jobs bill, no budget cutting!

Let's see the Democrats run on that in the fall!

So the DEMs are really not interested in forming legislation, they just want the proper appearance.

Fine. GOP should issue one demand before walking out, scrap current bill.

They do not have the votes from Democrats in the House for Super-Romney Fascist Care, so the President of the United Drug and Health Insurance Companies, Barry, will try to coopt some Republicans.

It might work. I guess about half of the Republicans could support Fascist Care as long as it is marketed as the default from “Socialist” Care. They certainly love Barry’s anti-conservative stand on non-negotiation with drug companies on drug price negotiations.

Robert the Bruce [Obama]: A rebellion has begun.

Robert Bruce, Sr. [Axelrod]: Under whom?

Robert the Bruce [Obama]: A commoner named William Wallace [Sarah].

Robert Bruce Sr. [Axelrod]: We will embrace this rebellion. You will support it from our lands in the north while I gain English favor by condemning it, and ordering it opposed from our lands in the south. Sit down. Stay a while.

Robert the Bruce [Obama]: This Wallace [Sarah], [s]he doesn't even have a knighthood, but [s]he fights with passion and [s]he inspires.

Robert Bruce, Sr. [Axelrod]: And you wish to charge off and fight as [s]he did. So would I.

Robert the Bruce [Obama]: Well, maybe it's time.

Robert Bruce, Sr. [Axelrod]: It is time to survive. You're the 17th Robert Bruce. The 16 before you passed you land and title because they didn't charge in. Call a meeting of the nobles.

Robert the Bruce [Obama]: But they do nothing but talk.

Robert Bruce, Sr. [Axelrod]: Rightly so. They're as rich in English titles and lands as they are in Scottish, just as we are. You admire this [wo]man, this William Wallace [Sarah]. Uncompromising [wo]men are easy to admire. [S]He has courage, so does a dog. But it is exactly the ability to compromise that makes a [wo]man noble. And understand this: Edward Longshanks [Bill Clinton] is the most ruthless king ever to sit in the throne of England. And none of us, and nothing of Scotland will remain, unless we are as ruthless. Give in to our nobles. Knowing their minds is the key to the throne.

IF the reps are truly in touch with the American people, as they are rushing to proclaim, then there is NO “bargaining” to be done. We don’t want any part of BO’s little “plan” and have made that clear.

The ONLY “bargaining” open to Oblahblah is for him to trash HIS plan completely and agree to market-based changes ONLY.

Dear Leftist propaganda agents pretending to be Journalists, How about you all finally do what you claim is your jobs? For example,

Mr President, You are calling for “bipartisanship”. Critics say your definition of “Bipartisan” is everyone in Congress simply bowing to what you want.

What elements of the Democrat plan are you willing to scrap to get that GOP support? Which elements of the GOP plan are you willing to fight your own party on to implement?

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

New Dem mantra: Woof, woof eat dog food granny....ala let them eat cake.

More Politboro spew.

But it would be refreshing to hear the Republicans say:

Mr. President, a one-half day Healthcare “discussion” isn't necessary, or warranted.

Mr. President, the Congress of the United States is responsible for, and should be fully capable of, determining the content of all laws submitted to you for your signature.

As you well know Mr. President, the Congressional Branch of the United States is separate from, and equal to, the Executive Branch.

Mr. President, we have made it perfectly clear to the Democrat members of Congress that we expect them to halt all of their efforts on both Healthcare bills passed by the Senate and House of Representatives.

Following that action, we are fully prepared to proceed with addressing any new Healthcare bills proposed by the Democrats in the Senate and House, but only if the Democrat leadership is willing to play by all the rules, and to televise ALL proceedings to the American Public through C-SPAN.

Mr. President, Republicans do not require the Executive Branch, nor its supporters in the media, to explain our duties as Senators and Representatives.

Mr. President, we fully understand the U.S. Constitution, and plan to ensure that all laws passed by Congress meet the requirements, and limitations, of the Constitution, before they are ever sent over for your Signature.

Mr. President, we must respectfully say no to your invitation.

However, we cordially invite your Executive Branch designated individuals to participate in normal, and Constitutional, activities associated with any Healthcare bills generated by Congress.
