I have read that in several places. I think it is more likely that he simply did not circulate in “polite” (non radical, non revolutionary) circles.
Professors remember him and he had a Senior thesis there for which the title is known and roommates of his during the Columbia Univ. years have been interviewed.
I think his records at Columbia Univ. are sealed because it shows he received financial aid as a foreign student or his school record listed him as an Indonesian student.
What you say makes sense, HOWEVER, also that no “fellow student” has popped up to say, “Hey, I had classes with that guy, who woulda known he’d be president? WOW!!”. Nothing. Not ONE peep that I’ve heard about knowing him, seeing him, nada! That just doesn’t pass the smell test with me.
I get what you are saying.
Here’s the thing.
If Obama did attend Columbia University it is a bad thing because of all of the really radical influences that he would have been exposed to on that campus then certainly and to a large extent even today. Plus, if he DID attend Columbia Univ. why is he hiding his record there?
If Obama did not attend Columbia Univ, it is a bad thing too. That is because a sitting President is lying about something as significant as his education and the professors who influenced the developmeny of his political philosophy.
You bet, I’m in agreement with you for sure. But you know, you’d think that somebody would say something about attending the same university (at the same time) as the President of the United States.

Or, maybe the students who did know him have been asked to remain silent about it and much $$$$ has greased their palm, or they’ve been deported, or they are at Gitmo, or their familiy has been threatened, or they’ve been fired for no reason, or they’ve been a victim of identity theft over and over, or they keep getting audited.........
It’s really much simpler (and safer) to just take the $$$$ and shut up and disappear.
Nope. They didn’t know him back in 2003 either, when Obama was an obscure Illinois state Senator, with connections to the Chicago Combine, and competing with Blago to be the “progressives” next hope.
He was keynote speaker at the 20 year reunion and drew a complete blank from all the students attending. Maybe it’s the professors who are lying.

If he didn’t attend Colombia doesn’t necessarily have any bearing on his influences at that time in his life because he still LIVED in the vacinity of Colombia and was heavily influenced by the same people he would have been had attended. This was when and where he met up with William Ayers. Ayers got him into community organizing in Haarlem and it was then he decided that he should go to Chicago and work for ACORN (under his father Thomas Ayers’ guidance.)

For what little it's worth, our pediatrician has a friend who attended college with The 0ne. Perhaps Columbia? The next time we see her we're going to prevail upon her to arrange for Ratboy to interview her friend as "an extra credit project for his history class". No promises, but stay tuned…
