Smoke the Bigots Out of the Closet
By FRANK RICH Published: February 6, 2010 A funny thing happened after Adm. Mike Mullen called for gay men and lesbians to serve openly in the military: A curious silence befell much of the right. If this were a Sherlock Holmes story, it would be the case of the attack dogs that did not bark.
John McCain, commandeering the spotlight as usual, did fulminate against the repeal of dont ask, dont tell. But the press focus on McCain, the crazy man in Washingtons attic, was misleading. His yapping was an exception, not the rule.
Many of his Republican colleagues said little or nothing. The rights noise machine was on mute. The Fox News report on Mullens testimony was fair and balanced and brief. The network dropped the subject entirely in the Hannity-OReilly hothouse of prime time that night. Only ratings-desperate CNN gave a fleeting platform to the old homophobic clichés.
Michael OHanlon, an expert from the Brookings Institution, speculated that 18-year-old, old-fashioned, testosterone-laden soldiers who are tough guys might object to those practicing alternative forms of lifestyle, which he apparently views as weak and testosterone-deficient.
His only prominent ally was the Family Research Council, which issued an inevitable action alert demanding a stop to the sexualization of our military.

They (the soldiers) are not inflicting their sexual preferences upon other soldiers simply by being allowed to join. If they actually did that in the form of a pass they would be dealt with in the same way a man would who imposed himself on a woman. Additionally being ex military and having at least a general knowledge of how the guys minds work, I think the heteros have their own very effective way of dealing with gays who decide to “impose” their sexual practices on those not interested. They are a tiny minority of the population and, I think an even smaller percentage of the military.
It’s all much ado about nothing and the Rep are correct in just letting it play out and having the voters decide themselves if this is the way to go.
The silence you heard from the right was not a shocked one since it was no secret nor was it a surprise when this was announced in the SOTU.
According to them it is not our approval they seek. They claim not to care whether we approve or not, but only want to be free to do as they choose with whom they choose without any restrictions that do not apply to hetero's. When it is pointed out they already have those rights what immediately comes up is the marriage thing. Civil unions are not good enough for them they need, in my opinion the right to marry and call it that to satisfy some need in themselves to feel "normal"
The homosexuals push their agenda.
Those who back the fags and their agenda let me ask,
How are you going to feel when you come home early from a night out and some old queen is there trying to seduce your young son or grandson?
Where are your morals?
Perverted sicko’s.

Yiou need witnesses to make that happen and getting the guy alone is not a problem. Plus with them being so badly outnumbered it would be easy to get the number of witnesses needed to claim then gay started it by making a pass and not backing off when asked.
Soldiers will have a way of dealing with this, trust me. If anything the gays will be worse off for this DADT being revoked because they will no longer be able to be discharged if they decide the military is not for them, by simply outing themselves
Well if you want an army that doesn’t have a problem persecuting Christians, that would be the one you want.
