If the Repubs refuse to participate he will put name plates for each Repub who did not show up and run the confab without them. They will get loads of footage of the GOP demanding access, demanding input and demanding that he keep his “televised negotiations” dubbed on to the empty chairs along with GOP excuses for not wanting to participate. Then Dem talking heads will state that the GOP is good on AM radio or on Fox or screaming “liar” at a speech, (where they cannot be challenged) but they are cowards when it comes to confronting the President face to face. This guy is good.

Now that Rush has warned against going and getting their clocks cleaned, his words will also make a great ad. The GOP had better get a game plan or they can lose this momentum!!!!

I heard Rush today and appreciate his concerns but I disagree with his prediction of how things would go. With jobs & the economy in the dump this is the wrong time to be pushing this bill that the country can’t afford and that point alone is a winning issue politically without even bringing up the debt and how much each American owes. Not to mention reminding those who don’t already know that they’re going to have to buy and pay for Obamacare or face fines and possible jail time. That will be the beginning of the end of Obama’s ambitions.

Holding this meeting, stalling and stretching things out also brings us closer to November.

A caller on Rush's show today had it spot on — turn the tables on Obama and put him in an unwinnable position:

CALLER: I'm fed up with Obama and the way he's running this country. That's why I'm a Democrat and telling you right off the bat. I think the Republicans today should come out and say, “If you, Mr. Obama, would come to the table right now with whatever you need to talk about and say, ‘I have heard you speak in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey. I was wrong. I should not have pursued — with the economic initiatives we had — this health plan. I'm going to take your advice and listen to what you said. I am publicly going to admit I was not transparent in my promises. I will, in the future, do that. I am publicly announcing we are restarting the whole health plan all over again, and we will have everything up to date, and we are scrapping it and it will not be published. It will not produced this year,’ and start from there and then meet on those conditions,” and I think the Republicans should accept it.

RUSH: Well, that is a huge theoretical hypothetical, and it will never happen.

CALLER: I think that's putting him on the spot because he's putting Republicans on the spot saying, “You want transparency so I'm going to give it to you now.” He has to admit he didn't give it to you for years and he lied through his campaign.
