WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's counterterrorism adviser says he's not aware of any credible terrorist threats against the Super Bowl.
John Brennan says officials are "very comfortable" with the security measures in place for Sunday night's game in Miami between the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts.
Fans aren't going to be allowed to bring large bags into the Super Bowl stadium. Also, there will be 100 magnetometerslike those in use at airportsto detect metal objects.

Prayers for everyone in or within 10 miles of the stadium.
Confidence shown by the White House scares the crap out of me.
“Pride goeth before a fall.”
“there will be 100 magnetometerslike those in use at airportsto detect metal objects.”
I understand that the non-metallic explosive: PETN (pentaerythritol Tetrabitrate) can’t be detected by the usual methods.
“And nearly everyone entering the stadium will be subjected to a pat-down search”
That’s a LOT of pats... One more reason to watch it from the comfort of my OWN home!
All the talk of terrorism on Super Bowl Sunday reminds me of the movie from the mid-70’s “Black Sunday” - Been praying for years that never happens!
Oh, crap.
What about air space near and over the stadium?
The Loon’s Club O’Simpletons are “confident”.
Be afraid.
Be very afraid.
“The system will work”
And the fact that “middle eastern looking” males and females will NOT be searched (by executive order) has absolutely nothing to do with the reported unexpected turn in of some 63,000 tickets.
Lord I pray no one lights his boxers up........
Americans have short memories and it will take another disasterous "9-11" to wake them up from their stupid sleepy slumber.
And will John Brennan be attending the super bowl?
What are you referring too? Do you have a link?
Well that makes me feel a whole lot better. /sarcasm
I hope there are lots of dutch tourists at the game.
Prolly the safest place on Earth.
Think those drones have been pressed into domestic service, :>
This is the same guy who said this...
Brennan Fed Up With Politics Played Over Christmas Day Bomber
FOXNews
Saying congressional Republicans are using a “500-mile screwdriver” to criticize the administration about its response to the failed attack in Detroit, Deputy National Security Adviser John Brennan said the GOP is motivated by partisan purposes and second-guessing the case.
“Quite frankly, I’m tiring of politicians using national security issues such as terrorism as a political football,” Brennan said. “They are going out there. They’re unknowing of the facts. And they’re making charges and allegations that are not anchored in reality.”
But Brennan said he personally briefed top GOP lawmakers on Christmas night about Abdulmutallab’s arrest and that none of them raised objections.
“There’s been quite a bit of an outcry after the fact, where again, I’m just very concerned on behalf of counterterrorism professionals throughout our government, that politicians continue to make this a political football and are using it for whatever political or partisan purposes,” he said.
Brennan added that the FBI and others involved in his arrest acted appropriately.

GOP leaders rebut Brennan’s claims about Christmas bomber
The four Republicans immediately took umbrage at Brennan’s comments, saying they were not told of any decision to read Miranda rights to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the attacker.
“Brennan never told me any of plans to Mirandize the Christmas Day bomber — if he had I would told him the administration was making a mistake,” Bond said.
Spokesmen for McConnell and Boehner described brief or “courtesy” calls on Christmas Day that did not amount to a full briefing.
During a brief call from the White House, McConnell was given a heads up that Abdulmutallab was in custody, but little else. He wasnt told of the decision to Mirandize Abdulmutallab,” said Don Stewart, McConnell’s spokesman.
Kevin Smith, spokesman for Boehner, said the congressman received a short, unclassified, non-secure call on his cell phone in which he was not told that Abdulmutallab was read Miranda rights.
“This administration, and this administration alone, made the dangerous decision to read Abdulmutallab his Miranda rights and treat him as a common criminal, not a terrorist, and it did so without even consulting our intelligence chiefs,” Smith said.
“I don’t think Brennan is lying,” Hoekstra said. “I think what he is saying is that he gave us some info and based on that kind of info we should have figured out something else. That’s an unfair characterization.”
He said the idea that he would know how the government would treat the attacker legally based on what Brennan said is “ludicrous.”
“That assumption is crazy,” Hoekstra said.
Hoekstra said the call was in the evening on Christmas Day on a nonsecure line. He said they didn’t discuss what strategy would be used or how the government would treat him legally.
What about Janet “The System Worked” Napolitano? She’s at Obama’s White House Super Bowl party.
Talk about the kiss of death. Onada and his crowd of angry commies have been wrong about everything since the Kenyen usurped the presidency.
