Sarah Palin went to address the Tea Party Convention last night, laying out the populist-conservative case against Obama. We need a commander in chief and not a law professor in the war against radical Islamic extremists she declared. (In purposefully using a phrase that the president eschews, she, of course, reinforces her point.) She fingered the closed-door deals and non-transparency in Washington, asking mockingly, Hows that hopey, changey stuff working out for you?....
But this much is clear: her potential opponents for 2012 will have to figure out how to match the enthusiasm and affection she generates. (The mainstream media and liberals [but I repeat myself] loathe her, but they dont vote in the GOP presidential primary.) And, without adopting the criticisms favored by the mainstream media e.g., she lacks an Ivy League degree that are likely to alienate the conservative base, they must figure out how to make the case that shes not the right person to go toe to toe with Obama. Thats not, by any means, an impossible task. But judging from last nights outing, the flock of 2012 contenders may have their work cut out for them.

I was there along with several other freepers....she is the darling of folks like us...there is no mistake.
O’Reilly’s boy snagged my wife when we came in....we’ll see if they use it.
(((PING)))
I watched it on TV..She was great.
For some, that is disqualifying. For others, it is a sign she won't try to tell the rest of the country how to run their lives.
An Ivy League degree is a disability as far as I am concerned. It doesn’t mean you are smart. In fact, I have met quite a few people who went to the Ivies who are as dumb as a sack of hammers and a like number who don’t have enough common sense to come in from the rain.
It is possible to find good people with Ivy League degrees but I would never send my kids to any Ivy School.
My brother has an Ivy degree, but he had a conservative foundation, so that helped him not get indoctrinated.
“rules...”
She does. She does indeed.
Yes. It is possible to get through and ivy League school without being infected with Alinsky-ite principles but, as you say, you must come with a solid conservative orientation. Even so, I think you learn more at a place like Hillsdale College or, if you are Catholic, Thomas Aquinas or University of Dallas. They honor Western Culture at schools like that and don’t apologize for it like they do at Harvard and Princeton.
Yep, my brother sent his eldest daughter to Hillsdale. Did wonders for her.
I have a Harvard degree from back in the 50s. Even then, they tried to brainwash people, but they had some really good professors if you knew which courses to choose. I had been fortunate in my education before going there, so there was no danger I would be brainwashed.
I must say, however, that things have changed since then. They had some really good people in English and History and teaching the core humanities courses. Now there are hardly any left who are worth studying with.
There were always liberals at Harvard, but since the 70s they have taken over academia entirely and monopolized it. It’s very hard now to find anything else. And back then, Yale and Princeton were fairly conservative, in an elitist way. No longer.
If they use it, please ping me when you post it!
One more thing...totally OT...
WHO DAT!!!!!!!!!!
Even if I used 64 font, and the boldest of bold, I couldn’t post a smilie that would match the one on my face!
