I was at Yale/New haven visiting my wife when I got a cell call from a friend informing me of the news. I went out into the hall (Surgical Intensive Care Unit), and saw the staff gathering for a meeting. I overheard talk about getting the empty rooms ready for occupancy and things.

One of the nurses is friendly, and I asked her if this was abotu Middleotwn. she said “Yes”, and I let her go about her work. I think I heard a figure of over 100 injured at the time.

Fortunately they apparently had no need. but were prepared. in the condition my wife is in, I was afraid that if they got overwhelmed that they might ‘let her go’ in order to get another room...

I'm so sorry to hear about your wife, camle. I'll remember her in my prayers.

I had 3 surgeries (2 major, one minor) between Nov 2008 and June 2009 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. I can't give enough praise to everyone I came in contact with there... doctors, nurses, all medical professionals. Even the secretaries who checked me into the various departments were top-notch. Yale-New Haven is the finest hospital in Connecticut, IMO... one of the best in the country.
