If you can believe some of the comments on the channel 8 WTNH website, the explosion was heard or felt at incredible distances (I am 30 miles from there and did not hear it, but people at even greater distances have reported heariong the blast). I suspect feeling or hearing the blast also depends on the contour of the land. I didn't feel or hear a thing. I'm about 30 miles from Middletown
