Your “nickel and dime package” is actually two different defensive schemes...Nickel package adds an extra defensive back removing a linebacker making 5 defensive backs, hence the “nickel”.
the dime package removes another LB and adds another DB making 6 defensive backs...
There is actually a “quarter” package” that has 8...yes, EIGHT defensive backs (FS’s and CB’s) in a prevent mode..Only three rushing linemen...
