You really are clueless, aren't you? Bush Sr. was following a UN mandate to kick Saddam out of Kuwait and stopped once it was achieved - mistake. Bush Jr. marched into Bagdad, still with NO "leadership in place". After some misteps, the surge brought relative peace and prosperity to that country. And guess what? Iraq formed their own leadership. Afganacrap is another thing entirely...so don't go there.
That said, we can debate whether we should have invaded Iraq and I definitely don't believe the USA should be the world police. Somalia? Really?

I don’t know what your beef is in going off the way you have...I am perfectly aware of the Islamic threat there, as well as in the states and worldwide, and the mindset of the Muslim people. You’re barking up the wrong tree.
My son fought in the Gulf war so don’t think for a minute my focus wasn’t on what was going on in Iraq and Kuwait. And there was no leadership waiting in the wings to assume control In Iraq had we taken Saddam out then.
When Bush Jr.. went into Iraq there were those willing to assume leadership and arrived in Iraq to do so...these then galvinized the people to elect their own representatives... and in time they did indeed do just that.
