Rahm Emanuel is facing a political correctness crisis, and as a noted American once said, we should never let a crisis go to waste.
White House Chief of Staff Emanuel said (correctly, on substance) that for liberal bloggers to attack centrist Democratic senators for being too moderate on health care would be f - - - ing retarded, meaning politically unwise, then found himself getting a wedgie from Sarah Palin.
On Facebook, Palin, the mother of a child who has Down syndrome, presented herself as deeply offended by the implication that . . . what, exactly? That the liberal bloggers Emanuel was speaking to (in a private, off-the-record meeting) were acting as if they had Down syndrome? Surely the more mean-spirited insult would be to accuse those with Down syndrome of behaving as senselessly as lefty bloggers.

“Wrong. Neither should be fired, and Emanuels comment should be put in the bank and used as a defense against fake outrage the next time a Republican says something that somebody pretends to be offended by (but is secretly delighted to hear).”
Wouldn’t work. The scum would ignore that as they have every time they’ve been cut slack or given a pass. You’ve got to use the munitions at hand to the best effect possible. This is war, now. Screw civility.
“Palin, the mother of a child who has Down syndrome, presented herself as deeply offended by the implication that . . . what, exactly?”
That “retarded” is a condition that deserves contempt?
Then accelerated (opposite of retarded) would be a better word, for a while, to use in regards to people who act stupid (e.g., Emanuel and his fellow Party members).
Well, after what they did to Lott...they deserve a little comeupance! But, I think I agree with the author....why all this over reaction and finger pointing except for political bs.
PC is overdone.
I guess after you have Obozo making a crude comment comparing his bowling skills to special olympics, Rahm will get a pass with his retard comment
What the left fails to understand is that Americans aren’t just tired of their crap - we’re PI$$ED OFF!
Rahm’s gutter mouthed insult isn’t that unusual from that direction - but regular Americans are totally ticked that the left has crammed PC down everyone’s throat while reserving to themselves a waiver. THAT is why this story has traction - because of the hypocrisy.
Rahm deserves to resign or be fired because of the hypocrisy. Were it to come to pass, he may well be paying for the sins of others - but they are other lefties, and he’s just the latest donkey-hole to shoot his mouth off, making his foul-mouthed crisis too valuable to waste.
Kyle Smith can kiss my butt.
PC is definitely overdone - but only on one side.
Governor Palin’s response is part of her support for developmentally challenged kids.
The political firestorm is part of the general anger I see growing amongst the people - where all the rules apply to the people, and none to the “rulers”.
Just my $.02, of course.
Rahm is a disgusting Chicago mob parasite and apparently can't utter a sentence that doesn't include the f word. Great example BO has set for this country as a WHCOS. Maybe he's missing his true calling writing rap music.
Or like their Commie allies only understand brute force and the barrel of a gun.
Why is no one upset about using f**king in a meeting? Why not point out how Rahm is just a low rent hood in a nice suit.
I think Rahm Emanuel, of all people, becoming a catalyst for a national debate on PC is more proof that God has a sense of humor.
Nice when thier forced to take thier own medicine they have been pushing for years and now is back firing on them. USE THIER OWN TACTICS ON THEM and thier like dear in the headlights I love it!
Rahm Emanuel has got to go, if not now, later, but now's not the time to relent from the task.
Just think of us as Conservatives doing the job Democrats can't.
I hate this PC stuff. Emanuel is a thug, and nothing that comes out of his mouth surprises me. But all this rage about him saying, “retarded,” is overblown. We shouldn’t be acting like leftists.
Freedom of speech. It’s important, even if we don’t like what people are saying.
