PROVINCETOWN — Several Cape Cod residents, former residents and civil rights advocates want leniency for a former Provincetown gay rights activist facing prison in Vermont for transporting child pornography.
Twenty-two letters of support for activist John Perry Ryan, 62, of Braintree, Vt., were filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Vermont. Of those, 17 mention Ryan's civil rights advocacy on the Cape from the 1970s through the 1990s. The letters — a few handwritten, others typed, most addressed to U.S. District Court Judge William K. Sessions III — ask that Ryan be considered for a reduced prison sentence or at-home confinement.
Among the letter-writers are Provincetown resident and former town Director of Public Health and Human Services Diane Corbo; former Provincetown schools Supt. Susan Fleming of Vermont; former Provincetown harbormaster James Vincent of Vermont; Province-town resident and AIDS activist James Rann; Truro artist and former newspaper reporter Joyce Johnson; Mary Zepernick of the Program on Corporations, Law & Democracy in South Yarmouth; and former Provincetown Selectman David Atkinson of Vermont.
Ryan is scheduled to be sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Burlington.
The case against Ryan began in 2006, when Swiss police contacted U.S. immigration authorities with a list of computer users who had allegedly traded child pornography with a Swiss man, Laurent Boson. From the list, U.S. authorities linked a computer e-mail account and an Internet computer address to Ryan.

I’ve been pointing this out for a long time. If anyone cares about their kids and basic decency then you have to oppose the radical sexual activists. Gay rights is just a vehicle for control. They’ll make sure your kids are indoctrinated in school and that new recruits will be indoctrinated in the military and that every corporation tows the byline.

I agree with the last one, he should be shot.
The agenda is to destigmatize “intergenerational intimacy”, aka child molesting. Sodomites are a vastly disproportionate share of molesters. And this is only one of the pathologies that go with the “lifestyle”. Perhaps we should deport the sodomites to Uganda - a vacation of sorts.
